I think I'm starting to regret booking.

We are going mid May. It sounds like it's not even worth trying to figure out what rides will be open until about a week out. We are going regardless of what is open or closed I just would like to know so I can let the kids know in case a ride they are looking forward to will be closed. My kids live on the Disneyland Explorer App and are always asking "Can we ride this?".

Well I just checked the Disneyland map which lists the ride closures and now the map isn't listing ANYTHING closed while we're there. Not Alice In Wonderland, not Indy, not Nemo Subs... nothing at all is listed as closed! What the heck is going on?! This is turning off from ever wanting to visit Disneyland ever!

CORRECTION: I looked at a different map and now the refurbs are showing up. One shows them and one doesn't. Weird! Looks like Alice, Nemo Subs, IASW, Indy, Pirates all down at DL and Grizzly River Run, Mermaid and IT's Tough To Be A Bug down at DCA. I think we're going to cancel... such a bummer because I was looking forward to this trip a lot! :(

UGH, so now IASW is down too while we're going to be there @sweetpee_1993 ?! This is just not looking good for us!! :-/
I know. I keep telling myself its okay but part of me wants to be a real grown up & just sack the cash in savings...or more stock.... Its hard. I'm walking such a thin line. I want to go but I'm sad/disappointed/worried too.

R u able to reschedule at all instead of canceling? U should be able to shift date if necessary.

@derelicte19 , it IS much easier & less stressful to book a cruise, huh? LOL! Tracey keeps telling me to book us one instead. For him its different. When he leaves the country and has to turn off the phone its a more complete escape for him. If he's still in the country he doesn't feel like he can do that.

Booking a cruise really IS much easier! And trust me, I priced that out instead of Disneyland lol but since we're getting free hotel stay with my Mom's points, a cruise is MUCH pricier! I think it was like $300 more a person. It looks like we're probably just going to go back to WDW. My mom can use her points at the Swan or Dolphin and we already have our APs. 5 nights there including airfare, food, and the daily fee the Swalphin charges, it's going to be $859 a person. That's actually even cheaper than our DLR trip was going to be (that was going to be $1065 a person) If we didn't have APs already or hotel points, you bet we'd be back on a cruise! :D

Ladies and gents, you will still have a good time, despite the closings. If you cancel and reschedule, you'll just find other rides down. This is how it is here. Rides are down throughout the entire year, SOMETHING'S ways bound to be down. Just go and make the best of what's open.

Sweetpea, maybe you could do Disneyland and a cruise from LA. We looked into it for our spring break trip this March, and it was fairly reasonable. In the end though we decided on an all-inclusive in Playa del Carmen Mexico, I needed a beach under my toes after this horrible winter here in Wisconsin.

Yeah, the refurb schedule is crazy this season.
As others have said, it is unusual to see so many date shifts/changes/indecisions.
Remember the uproar the RSRs *sudden* refurb caused last year?

I know i will have a great visit regardless of the multiple attractions i now see slated to be down during my early May venture, but i cannot help but secretly wish i had booked for the following week.
I miss most of the re-openings by just a few days...but i wanted to stay away from possible Mothers Day crowds/Grad Nights.

Oh well...
This may well turn out to be a blessing in disguise in the end.

I fully understand what you are saying... however - between the two parks there are 7 rides down while we're there with 2 more closing 3 days into our trip. That is NINE attractions being refurbed at once! And the week before we go is Easter and before that is spring break. I just don't understand how there can be so many rides down at once!

Maybe it's because I'm a local and I'm used to multiple rides being down. I understand where you're coming from, though. Enjoy your WDW trip!

We are going sometime the week of May 19th and only a few things seem to be closed but who knows buy then.

We'll be there May 27-28. I've given up trying to figure out what will be down. Given all the changes, I'll just have to wait until we're closer. I AM bummed about the possibility of many closures, but we cannot reschedule this trip. Part of is is for a family gathering which we have to go to anyway, so if we bag the DL part of the trip, we are unlikely to be back any time soon. So we're going, and I'm hoping for the best. Whatever we get will be better than nothing at all.
