I think I'm starting to regret booking.

Even when it is open it often closes. In the past 3 years of going to DL it has only be going maybe half the time we are in the park and it is supposed to be going. Often we've stood in line to ride it only to have it get closed down for something when we were about to board. Look on the bright side it will save you from getting wet if it isn't going.

If DL's IASW gets me wet somehow I really don't want to miss it.

thanks. I think I prefer to verify on an official site, at least certain rides. I've been burned in the past relying on 3rd party sites that were not accurate.
This has been the big gripe. The list on the DL website doesn't match what each ride in the map lists for refurb dates. Which is more accurate? I haven't the foggiest. THEN, the refurb days in the map seem to change almost daily in some cases. Trying to adjust your expectations ahead of time is hopeless, I fear. That's why I've resolved myself to showing up and making the most of it then. ;)

The DL website has been notorious for years on being behind in updates on the latest changes. Normally it's just a pet peeve of regulars and the 3rd party news sites were more 'put together'. But this winter has been the most chaotic I've ever seen it in the last 10 years with the number of changes. This is NOT normal and obviously frustrating for people. Not only are the things changing so frequently, but SO MANY attractions are in the mix.

Unprecedented - and hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Well it will cost Disney some money from our family this trip. This March we are going, but because we don't know which rides are going to be open and which are not, we will be staying offsite. That way if the rides we want are actually closed we will do fewer days and spend our time somewhere else be it Universal or Knott's... but the stupid hotel policy on cancellations means we aren't going to commit to any time in their hotels this trip since we would be doing it based on unknown ride availability. Their actions have consequences and it just cost them this trip and probably saved me some money on a hotel.

No loss - honestly the Nemo attraction at EPCOT is better. The subs looked better as landscaping than they did as an actual attraction you experienced.
Yeah, we were the family that only rode 20k if we caught the line unusually short. The subs were a bit of a novelty but not enough to make waiting in such a slow moving line a good use of time when every other attraction was a 15 minute or less wait. ;) I'm afraid they'll remove the subs altogether and my guys will never have ridden one. I want them to experience it if possible for the nostalgia factor. Raising my proper Disney aficionados and all. LOL!

well the good thing about Nemo at @ DL is... no fish on strings! The bad news is... you can still see the top of the lagoon, and some people whine (IMO) over the projections. For the most part I think the projections worked well.

I never understood why people want a barely moving piece of plastic over a visual that tricks your mind into seeing something as real.

Oh man, is DL's version better?? I guess I won't miss it then.....

Better as in 'more impressive to look at from the sidewalk'? Yes
Better as in a better ride experience? Not really
Better as in a more UNIQUE experience? Probably. It's ashame the Nemo in the seas attraction doesn't leverage the aquarium more/better. It doesn't have that undersea feeling anymore like the old attraction did.

The show sets in the seas are better than the ones at DL.. and there are better elements like the angler fish and the current scene.

DL's subs look very cool from the curb... but still not as cool as 20k was. The DL lagoon is very picture perfect.. which the subs, the waterfalls, the matterhorn, the monorail all right there. But it's more about their history and their place in the park than it is about being a awesome ride experience.

Keep Moving Forward
We are going mid May. It sounds like it's not even worth trying to figure out what rides will be open until about a week out. We are going regardless of what is open or closed I just would like to know so I can let the kids know in case a ride they are looking forward to will be closed. My kids live on the Disneyland Explorer App and are always asking "Can we ride this?".
