I just called home, Mom was making her famous chocolate chip cookies.

She had a bad day, so I traslated some French poetry for her.. I will share with you guys as well:

Best academic day ever? Yes. History Professor announces impromptu guest speaker at UofMiami tonight, on the Amistade Rebellion and offers anyone a ride with her. Being that I am a poor shmo with no car, I have no other way of getting there, and I really want to see it. So... let the awkward car ride commence! :lol: But it wasn't awkward! :lol: She's a surprisingly easy person to talk to, though she is so formal in class. And the Lecture was AMAZING. Got to interact with the Professor giving the speech (Can't remember his name, but he was published. Many times. And he had taught at Yale at some point.) Asked a ton of questions and got some very cool answers and pointers on research. Good fodder for a letter of recommendation, too.

So...the History Geek in me is very happy.
