PSP is like a portable PS2 with a very nice screen. It plays UMD movies, which in my opinion are just a way for the movie studios to get you to buy all your favourite films AGAIN!
Hmmmm....is guess we don't really need one of those since we already have a PS2 and the van has a dvd player in it.

My PC ( after I get done upgrading it ) can blow any system out of the water. ( 2-3 gigs RAM, Dual ATI graphics cards 256 and maybe 512 megs. When they come out, dual AMD Athlon processors.) Beat that microsoft, sony, or nintendo! Now, I must admit I will buy consoles for the console games. I will buy the nintendo revo because NONE of nintendo's games go to PC. Microsoft however, does. ( here's hoping for HALO 3 on PC )
Dude... you're going to build with CrossFire?

Why not SLI?

(Oh, and duel-core AMD processors are out... I got one.

I have never gotten into this my computer is better then your computer LOL!
I will say that to play any of the newer games out there on your PC you do need at least 1.50 gigs of ram, which at this moment I don't have:( I only have a gig, I need another 512 meg stick at least. my processor is only a AMD 1.25 ghz and my graphics card is only a radeon 9000 I wish I could get better, but at this time I can not afford it.

Because I just bought a brand new ATI card for 200 bucks. lol.. And with the AMD dual pricessors,
I had no idea, thanks for the heads up.

Oh and darthdarrel, I have an AMD sempron 2.0 ghz. 512 megs of RAM, and before I bought my new ATI X700 pro card I could play BF 2 singleplayer on the low settings fine, and now I can play online with NO lag, and the lower graphics settings.

well 512 is fine, usually the minimum requirements, but some of the newer online games say they require 512, but recomend 1.5 gigs. I play star wars galaxies and 512 is the minimum requirements but I have 1 gig and I lag terribly in the cities, I soooo need another 512 stick lol!

Anybody out there have a DS? I Love it...sure it may not be as "sophisticated" as the PSP...but, I've gotta tell ya...when it comes down to just all around "fun"...the DS is the way to go!

Mario Kart DS is probably the best video game I've ever played (I don't care so much about graphics, complexity, and how much a game "brings you into it"). I like games that you can just pick up and play for 10-15minutes at a time, have a blast and put it down.

I only have Mario Kart DS and Madden '06 right now (Madden is just "eh" but every other game I've played for it (Sonic Rush, Pac n Roll, Metroid Prime Pinball, Tiger Woods, and Narnia) have been all really REALLY fun.

So, chime in and tell us about your portable system...Any games that anybody recommends (PSP, GBA, or DS)?

I have a DS... but shortly after I bought my DS.... I got a PSP for X-Mas.... so now my DS is treated like a red-headed step child... :o

Metroid Prime Pinball on the DS is like crack though...lol Cant quit it. :p

I love the PSP more though... its fun walking around and finding all sorts of open WiFi connections.... :lookaroun The browser is great.. and I love the pod-casting abilities on the 2.60 update of the PSP.

I think I may throw my DS and all the games up on eBay soon. :o

At first I didn't think much about my DS, I got it when it first came out and was underwhelmed with Super Mario 64. The control scheme for that game almost requires an analog stick.

But then Nintendo started releasing some solid titles and now I can't put the DS down. Lately, I've been addicted to 2 titles. The first one being Mario Kart.

It's easily the best Mario Kart game ever. They give you so many tracks, especially compared to DoubleDash!. Has anyone figured out the whole friends list option for the wifi???

The 2nd game I'm addicted to is Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. If you miss 2D side scrolling adventures then you got to pick up this game. The graphics, play control and fun factor are all very good.

Sonic Rush is a great side-scroller too! I've been thinking of picking up Castlevania but haven't yet...but Sonic, that's like Old-School Sonic with a touch of modern.

I agree, MarioKart is by far the best MK game out there.

I don't know where people get the idea Nintendo is doing so poorly. As far as I'm concerned Nintendo consoles and XBOX/Playstation shouldn't even be in the same category. Nintendo has and continues to offer innovations in types of games and the way they are played.

PS and XBOX continue to pump out the same types of games over and over. Namely first person shooters and sports games that change little from year to year. All those consoles can brag about is increased graphics capability and media capabilities such as playing DVD's and internet access. They're no longer in the gaming category IMO. They're low priced PC's that overheat easily and require expensive upgrades to their memories to play most games.

Nintendo is in the business of creating new ways to experience gaming. From the first RPG's to games like Elektroplankton...Nintendo always brings new experiences to the table. The American mainstream may not eat it all up but that certainly does not make them a wounded dog. Hell the DS is single handedly responsible for masking the HUGE decline in sales of all other consoles in 2005 alone!!

*End rant from DisJosh the Nintendo geek* lol :D

Don't get me wrong, I love the big N. I grew up on Mario, and Ocorina of Time is my favorite game of all time. Unfortunately, they've been slipping in quality the last few years. Metroid Prime was AWESOME. Too bad they had to follow it up with MP 2. Mario Sunshine was a huge let down, and don't get me started on Wind Waker. I can understand that you don't like the FPS, but come on HALO is amazing. Perfect Dark for 360 is like no FPS I have ever played. And as for the sports titles, the same titles come out on Nintendo systems. Do I have to bring up Madden for DS? Plus Nintendo insists on putting out a Mario Party every year with two new minigames. They also want to slap Mario on every possible thing. I won't be suprised in Mario Ultra Equestrian Sports comes out soon. Games like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I & II and Jade Empire raised the bar for RPGs, and I can't find great things like that on the Cube. I feel that Nintendo has just sacrificed quality for innovation. Also I don't see where you're coming from when you say "They're low priced PC's that overheat easily and require expensive upgrades to their memories to play most games." If your talking about the consoles, I've never had to upgrade my XBOX,PS2, GC, or 360. Nor has my XBOX 360 overheated. That was blown way out of proportion:lol: . Plus Nintendo doesn't have the online of XBOX. Live is amazing. If Revolution is 150-200 I consider buying it.

*End rant from SirGoofy the disappointed Nintendo/Video game geek*

I've just tried out the WiFi for the first time for Mario Kart and found one person online. I have yet to try for the friend mode, but it sure would be interesting to play against some of the folks on WDWMagic!
