Linemen, National Guard, and other first responders. I found that a curious choice for a staging area given the location and roof design. Hope all fared well.
Wonder if they can move them to Amalie Arena unless the Tampa Bay Lightning have games scheduled since the NHL season started yesterday.

Had the power go through a prolonged flicker (about 5 seconds with a few things off or actually flickering) a few minutes ago, so I’m not feeling confident for what’s to come after seeing what happened to the Trop.

I think it was more than tempered, it shattered but didn't crumble so it had a sheet in the center like a windshield

Yes, that would be correct. It was held together like a windshield, with membrane in between.
Ultimately, I just don’t get how dumb this clown was…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

And that folks is why they mandate hurricane windows
Impact rated glazing is not mandated. Opening protections are required in the high velocity wind debris regions and High Velocity Hurricane Zones but this can be achieved by means other than impact rated glazing.

Yes, I saw that the glass was tempered…otherwise, slice and dice.

Impact rated glazing is laminated which is why it stays together.

I know that glass to the floor was fine in homes I designed over the years, but only on the first floor at ground level. Anything more than 18” above grade level on the first floor in those instances, or on floors above had to be tempered/membraned if it was less than 24” AFF.
