Lucky you, we had a tornado pass near and lost power for three days. Thank goodness for generators.

I think God is giving me a bit of a break after being through so many hurricanes. lol

I do have a basement where I live now, and we have only had to go down once since moving here during a tornado warning. My kiddo hated the sound of the sirens, but we only lost power for a few hours, and only from strong wind, a tornado didn't actually hit thankfully!

I do not have a generator here though. I did once I moved into a house in SoFla (of course no hurricanes came after that lol)... my condo did not, only the building had one to keep certain areas on.

Seriously though, they're going to Stratford, Canada next week, and he's planning to propose there, so I am hoping that they will finally get some decent weather on a vacation. Rain seems to follow them everywhere.

Then please tell them to go to California. My home state could use some rain right now.

I was at OKW (what was the Disney Vacation Club) in Early August of 1995 when Hurricane Erin came through. It ended up being very minor storm and I think I recall the parks opened at 11am aft the storm had passed. Just mostly tree damage. This sounds much worse.

Andrew hit in Aug of '92 and it still amazes me there were no deaths out of that disaster.

Wrong. 44 deaths...15 directly related to the storm. One, if I remember, was a little girl being sheltered in her dad's arms and killed by debris in their house.

Can anyone locally advise what time tomorrow the storm is supposed to be clearing Orlando? Trying to figure out if I should book another night at the same hotel in Tampa when I arrive.

Silly question but what is the Contemporary like during a storm? It's all open where the monorail enters. With severe winds doesn't everything inside get damaged?

They've been relocated earlier today. The resort closed by 11 this morning. Someone was whining in the thread earlier about being moved to the All Stars, they wanted the Grand Fla and was told no.
