What's the deal with Fort wilderness Resort and Campsite closing now thru Sunday? Have guests been asked to leave and find shelter elsewhere? Or is it that no further check-ins allowed?

Lots of trees can fall at FW and campers can roll in strong winds.

My best friend is staying in their condo. They waited too long. Idiot!!!!!!!

They have all of their supplies and counting on the glass to hold up in the wind. I hope it does.

She is the only one I am really worried about at this point.. Everyone else will be safe, just uncomfortable.

And I've lived through two storms. The most recent was a storm in which the eye wall spent 1.5 hours swirling over town.

Tell them to keep the drapes closed and to stay away from the windows. And to pick a hallway or bathroom to shelter in if things get really bad. Hopefully they are several floors up to avoid flooding, but not too high. My fingers crossed for them.

You're overreacting. They will be fine, buildings in Florida are made to survive this stuff. The worst part about being in a hurricane like this is that you loose power for days.

You must live in eastern Tallahassee or east of Tallahassee. The eye wall just skirted past my house at 2am then everything went silent. It was weird.

Nope, I live in NW, near I-10. About 12:30, I heard the wind pick up, so I threw the cat in her carrier and moved to the hallway from the garage into my house, since it has doors at both ends. And didn't leave until 3:00 am. Yeah, it was scary hearing the winds and things hitting my roof. Then I heard a loud crack and prayed that wasn't one of my trees falling on the roof. It was a small pine tree in the backyard, hitting another tree and breaking as it fell over.

I'm wondering if the game will be played. The team usually flies out on Thursday evening. Jimbo said yesterday they will fly out tomorrow. That's going to be one bumpy flight....

During Charley they sent out characters to the hotels. We were in the WL, parks closed at 1pm, and all afternoon they were in the lobby until sometime between 4pm and 5pm when they ordered the lobby emptied and all guests to return to their rooms. As it was heard at the time, someone looked up and realized all of the plate glass windows in the lobby and that maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have a large crowd in a public space under those windows.

Nope none on our my list. Had a Cali grill brunch for that Sunday but cancelled it for BOG. We are doing extra morning magic that day so undecided if going to push through til 7pm or take a short resort break.

For this weekend. I literally put all the information in Apple Calender. Park hours, restaraunts how long we were to spend, fastpass+ times. Now let's hope for Thanksgiving I can put three. I can't wait though, thank goodness we could cancel, and I'll be praying for everyone in Florida and the Bahamas.

I am much more afraid of tornadoes than hurricanes. Severely afraid of them. I've never been in the path of a tornado, hope to continue that trend.

Lucky you, we had a tornado pass near and lost power for three days. Thank goodness for generators.

My bff and her boyfriend planned to take a 2 year anniversary trip to Myrtle Beach this weekend. Tuesday rolls around, and they tried to cancel their plans to go somewhere else because of the storm. Unfortunately, the rental car place wouldn't give them a refund, so they're off to MB this afternoon for what has got to be the rainiest weekend trip of their relationship.

Rain?! I think they are going to experience more than just rain....
