My friend is in the parade and as of 30 minutes ago was told to come in.

Yes and someone said they saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. Point being, Park is closed, Party is cancelled.

I wasn't suggesting the party was going to go ahead just that the cast or at least some were still being told to go in.

I was critical of Disney for not announcing the closing earlier, but I can't blame them in the end for waiting as long as they did. The amount of refunds that are being given now are more than any of us will see in our lifetimes combined...

They will be closed longer than Friday. No way you can get everything up and running after a day without inspections, cleanup, finding employees, etc...

Park has to be prepped for the shutdown. Scheduled cast might be utilized to secure parade floats and help with clean up in advance of the storm.

I know from talking to friends that work MNSS after the last party on tuesday they already prepped everything just incase the party got canceled tonight (which is now official)

Exactly. I already know a few entertainment folks who are reporting to DAK at 6PM - all in great spirits ready to keep the magic alive for guests.

Lol. I get it though but i think its hard for people to realize this isn't like a tropical storm where minimal damage could occur. This is a hurricane. And everything is unknown. The storm will be gone by Saturday morning. But we are anticipation no power, no water. This is bad.

My bff and her boyfriend planned to take a 2 year anniversary trip to Myrtle Beach this weekend. Tuesday rolls around, and they tried to cancel their plans to go somewhere else because of the storm. Unfortunately, the rental car place wouldn't give them a refund, so they're off to MB this afternoon for what has got to be the rainiest weekend trip of their relationship.

Seriously though, they're going to Stratford, Canada next week, and he's planning to propose there, so I am hoping that they will finally get some decent weather on a vacation. Rain seems to follow them everywhere.
