I know we already new about dining reservations being stopped due to the storm. Here is the Official announcement about dining reservations. All cancellation fees have been waived.
Sounds like Sunday night into Monday morning will be a very restless night in Orlando for the worst part of it. By Saturday night, we will be getting the wind.
Currently trying to decide if I should stay in Tallahassee or head over to Jacksonville. These shifts west do not look good for us at all.
Seems like if the initial impact is to the west side of the panhandle rather than east that will be a bit better because the major impact will be the everglades rather than Homestead/Miami, no?
Although that would be bad for the Keys...
Yep, Sunday night into Monday. I'm not so certain Monday will be "cleanup" day. I've seen a few putting Monday at 8pm still at 50mph winds. No one should be out in that.2am Sunday through Monday. I suspect Monday will be clean uo and trying to get out.
Im most concern about my car. Here in Orlando everything is by trees in my parking lot.

I just got word that the city may still be shut down Tuesday and Wednesday.

I really wish I had that option. My vote would be neither. I'd go north.
Question for the thread.. is it just me, or is it a little scary that none of the extreme weathermen/women are south of Miami?
Seen convoys of power crews in MI heading south on Weds night. The current estimate are for 50% without power in the Orange/Osceola areas. Overall they expect 2.5 million locations w/out power. Major substations and delivery lines will certainly fail during this storm. Recovery will take sometime; honestly, I'll be surprised of WDW is up and running Tuesday; They will be severely short staffed; just clean up alone will be a major undertaking; not to mention i'm sure their own staff may not be able to get to work or have any utilities at their own home. Now the storm does seem to be going more west which may change the winds a bit. but 80-110 mph sustained winds for hours is going make a mess of the area.
The storm weakened because of eye-wall replacement that happens in hurricanes, it gain strength again, however some of the mountains in Cuba may help rip some of it up.
If I had to guess, expect WDW closed late Sat through Monday. Tuesday right now is a crapshoot, depending on the severity of the storm.
Not surprised. I would count on WDW being closed at least partially Tuesday, most likely all day. It's just a very quick turnaround that would be expected to have them open Tuesday.I just got word that the city may still be shut down Tuesday and Wednesday.
Conchs are a certain type of specialThere are still people in Key West: a guy on a bike right in front the webcam. I wonder why they're not leaving.
Edit: of course he left the second I posted this haha.
Really? As in what? Schools and govt buildings? I hope they open airports asap if they didn't have damage to it.
