Wasn’t there a storm fairly recently where they closed MCO and the parks and then the storm took a sudden turn and nothing happened?
We live in MA and hurricanes remind me of every snowstorm we have here. Could be 2 feet, could be 2 inches. You never know 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think they have made any public announcement yet. The notice so far has been to cast.

Yesss... but.... It's also the page that announces future closings, like which resorts will be closing "due to the weather." Which it already has.

If WDW is announcing publicly thru other channels that it will be closing Wed & Thu, then that should be on their guest-facing update page.

That page is not a "right now" page. It's a weather update page. WDW is updating news channels, but not their guests.
They keep on site guests very well informed as to what is happening. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it is not happening. Back with Hurricane Floyd, letters were left in our room daily if not more often along with signs and messages in the hotel lobby and parks. There were also voice messages left on our resort room phones. And if there is anybody not there and thinking of going over the next few days, they are just foolish. Attached are the letters we recived.

And the guests staying off site?

All I'm saying, is that if they can announce to some groups that they'll be closing, and put it on MDE that the parks are listed as closed, then they can certainly put that info on their update page, the same update page that is linked to the very top of the WDW site when you log on.

How about giving it a minute? There are probably a hundred different systems and services that need to be updated with messaging as part of This process. From Cast Members in the call centers to hotel cast to park cast, to retail staff, and on and on. it takes a little time to get everything updated. It will be.

Give it up. Anyone in the area that is not aware of the weather situation and is planning to do anything the next two days only have themselves to blame. Darwinism at its finest. Trying to blame Disney because their webpage was not updated to your liking is sad.

They are adults, they can make their own decision to leave. Does not matter when Disney/Universal makes an announcement. To place blame on the parks as whether one stays or leaves is foolish.
People are stupid and lack judgement…as proven emphatically over the last few days here…

…details at 11.

The old adage is: they wouldn’t make laws if people had any clue how to act right.

Flash Flooding from where?

Flash floods are from a concentration of upstream drainage. Disney is basically a swamp with drainage canals - they have to worry about flooding due to overflows and lack of drainage - not violent flash floods.

Thought I read about people saying it could happen in this thread. I apologize I'm not up to speed on Disney's drainage canals.

Anyways, glad to hear it's not a concern.
