First of all...how old are you guys? (Just curious...is this a high school band, junior high, elementary, or college?)

You're both in band, true, but you want to show her that there is more to you than band. Find some things (other than band) that she's interested in, see if you're compatible with those interests...and then go from there. (No, don't study her, and then pretend to like things that she likes...you never want to start something based on lies.)

You've already flirted with her on the trip...so...was she flirting back or did she just brush you off?

I know it's tough for some people to talk to girls (I'm one of them)...but once the ice gets broken, it shouldn't be hard at all.

If I were you...I'd bite the bullet and just ask her. After the band practice see if she wants to go out. If she says no...who cares...at least you'll know and you won't be frustrated everytime you're sitting behind her.

A simple, "Hey, I was just wondering, do you want to catch a movie or grab something to eat this weekend?" will work just fine. (Hint, don't do this on a Friday...because, chances are, she already has plans for the weekend...ask her on a Tuesday.)

Go for the advice on posts 19 & 22. Straight forward and honest will work. If you get turned down then you won't have to wind yourself up any more over it.

Don't delay, just be yourself and ask her.

One more piece of advice, if you haven't been doing so already, definitely start talking to her when you get the chance, nothing huge, just some light conversation here and there. I used to get freaked out when guys I didn't even know would ask me out. I'd wonder how the heck they could possibly be interested if we'd never said two words to each other... :veryconfu
