How Often

Unfortunately, I live in Vermont (a long way from Disney). As such, getting to visit the World is not always easy. My wife and I went last year in February. I mentioned going back again this year. She looked at me like I was insane. Okay, she may have a point but I was wondering how often people who do not live within driving distance visit Disney World. So my question is where do you live and how often do you go.

I go as often as I can. I'm a college student in upstate New York, and I live in Connecticut. I go a couple times a year, as cheaply as possible. It usually breaks the bank. It costs a lot, but its totally worth it. My roommate and I both love it. We spend the money our peers spend on video games and alcohol.

I live in TN, roughly a 9-10 hour drive from WDW. We typically visit once a year, although this year we are contemplating upgrading to an AP and then trying to go a few more weekend trips. We fly for our trips, but if I couldn't find a cheap enough flight, I would drive.

So, to end my rambling, I usually go once a year:wave:

I live in Chicago, and for the past 3 years, we have been averaging 2 to 3 trips a year. This year, though, will break all records for us since by the end of Sept, we will have been to WDW 4 times (plus one trip to Disneyland).

Growing up my parents took us 1ce a year from 84-91. After graduating college I worked for US Air for awhile and took advantage of it and went 3 times in 1 year. Since bringing my DH (then BF) for the first time in 1998 we vacationed just about every year and yes we did honeymoon at WDW. My son was born 12/03 and we went in 8/04, 10/05 & 7/06 that's 3 trips in 2 years. I'd love to go every year, but we will be buying a house in the spring so will probably not go back for at least 2 years. I feel a little sad about it, but I live though everyone else here and will anxiously await trip reports.

I'm 12 hours from WDW. My pattern has been one summer trip with my son and a trip in October with friends (also to hit Halloween Horror Nights). It made sense for me to buy an AP and it'll pay off this year since I'll be going also in mid-January.

Mind you, I'm not doing much else for recreation, but it's worth it! I guess it all comes down to what's important to you. Right now, I'm really happy spending my vacation time at WDW. It's hard for my family to understand, but that's their problem. :D

NJ also, we started going in 1997, and since then have been there at least once a year, but since we bought into DVC and got our AP's this past year from Aug. thru to Nov. we are going to be there 5 times. But most of the time we go once a year. And we fly down, I'm NOT getting stuck with my sons and DW for at least 18 hours going nuts in the process. :p :hammer: We figure it's worth flying even if it does put a small dent in the budget, but at least we aren't up on a building getting ready to jump off onto the pavement because we need to relax somewhat. Less than 5 days till our 2nd trip........ :sohappy: :sohappy:

I live in Eastern Canada and driving takes 32 hours (though I've never done it). Our first trip was in 2003 and second in 2005 but it's quite expensive since flights from Canada cost a lot. We agreed that after being married 17 years that we want to travel more (with our kids before they are grown and move out) and the only place we all are interested in is WDW. We saved our coins, money from overtime, money from contract work and much of the money from any pay increases the past 3 years. By continuing to do this, we will be able to go every year (starting in 2007) and that's what we plan on doing. We make it a major priority and work hard to make it happen. I'm glad my wife and I are both of the same mindset. :)

You guys are all so lucky! My husband isn't a huge Disney fan, so I'm lucky I can talk him into once every two years! If it were up to me, I'd be there at least once a year, probably twice. But, considering it costs us almost $4000 everytime we go, it's kind of hard to do. :hammer: With both of us, three kids, and my mother-in-law coming along, it adds up quickly. My husband actually claims that our trip next month is the last one for him. He says after this year, the kids and I can go on our own if we want to go (which I'm seriously considering). Except that they're all different ages and it would be hard to make everyone happy with several adults along. We'll see. I thought about surprising each child on their 7th b-day with a trip, just me and them.

Now that I live in FL, I go at least once a month.

When I lived in TN, we had APs and came down 5-6 times a year, or just whenever Southwest had a fare sale.

We average once a year. We usually drive from Pittsburgh to WDW once every two years. We also attempt to fly down once every two years. I'd love to hit every season every year. Maybe when I retire.

I live about an 18 hour drive down I-75 from the world and I average a trip every 6 to 8 months.
This Sept. will mark 6 months since my last trip for a while (starting a family, just bought a house) and my first with my new wife as it will be our honeymoon destination! It will be her first trip ever!

I don't know how I manage to do it. It always runs me about $1500-$1700 per trip. Somehow this trip with the resort, tix, and the dining plan for 2 only cost me $1200. I was so happy for that.

I'm an addict what can I say.

5 weeks and counting!!!!

We lived in Ontario Canada until Last July, we made 4 trips from there in less than a year. We also made a 5th trip within 12 months when we moved to NC. We haven't been to WDW due to a pregnancy, (we did sneak a week in DL however).

We now live in VA, and are buying AP's and visiting in September and November, and will likely have another visit before they expire.

We go on an average of every 3 yrs. since since 83. There was once it took us 5 yrs to get a trip planned. Just different things kept popping up in our lives.
