I know this is a bit random but after visiting the travel agent yesterday I was interested to find out....how much does it cost you to go to Disney? How long do you go for? and what parks do you visit? both disney and non disney!
We went yesterday and looked up flights from Belfast for 3rd July next year for 21 days staying in an offsite villa...it came to 6555 for 5 people. Thats without tickets to attractions which will cost atleast another 1000! Just wondering if its as expensive to get to and stay from other locations?

We used to spend just over $1000 for the hotel, plus about $2000 for tickets (annual passes, which would make the most sense financially for a 21 day stay), and then bring another $2000 for spending/meals for 5 people, with a 7 or 8 day stay. We've always stayed in value season, and gotten steep room discounts due to our annual passes.

A 21 day stay is a long time, I'd say you're on par financially.

For two of us it was a little under $2500 for the week at a value resort during spring break, including food and transportation, and only Disney park hoppers.
I definitely agree, for 21 days during peak season, that sounds about right.

Did that price include flights?

To give some perspecitive, coming from Canada during value season, flights + 7 nights value hotel + 7 day park hoppers + dining plan comes to $2900 USD (and that's for one adult and one child). Breaking it down, we pay more for the airfare ($1500 air, $1300 WDW package). Oh, and that's with a special offer.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults/2 children. It usually costs us around 3, 500 to 4 thousand including spending money. We are Disney Vacation Club members now so the accomdations aren't factored into that. Airfare is about 1,200.00, meal plan I think is around 1,000, and the park tickets I believe are around 1,000 as well. We buy the park hopper tickets, and the meal plan is the basic meal plan. I'm always trying to budget for Disney, we always try to stay in budget, but it seems we always go over.:brick:

But all in all we love our Disney!

Is that in USD?
I think if you look around on the web you should be able to find a condo rental place for much much cheaper.

No sorry its in pounds sterling so its nearly twice as much in dollars! so say 10000 dollars without tickets!

I live in New Jersey.

Flights here vary between $100 and $400 - they can go higher of course, but most of the time those are your low prices.

Rooms, I am going to say, are $150 a night. Somtimes more, somtimes less, somtimes I use my DVC points

I have an AP, so the more I go, the cheaper per day

It runs me about $250 per person in travel costs, and maybe $250 per day for the three us for lodging and park admission, just averaging out the cost of the AP's

We're heading out Sunday, from East Midlands (Nottingham) for two weeks. Flights were 369 GBP each, the hire car (people carrier) is about £300 quid, and our villa is £800 GBP for the two weeks.

We've also bought 14 day hopper tickets at 169 (or so) GBP each.

On a solo trip (staying at a value resort during regular season with my AP discount for 4 days) I can do it for $500 or less. Normally it is less.

Mine vary so much. Most of the time we fly but sometimes we drive, if we are stopping to visit my sister on the way or just want to see a little more of the south on the way down.

The cheapest for us is when we have miles to use for airfare, which we do a lot of the time because my husband travels for business and I have my Continental Visa which racks up the miles.

So for instance this next trip I have free airfare and will use Magical Express instead of renting a car. We like to do the deluxe resorts but always the cheapest so I have us for 3 nights at the Beach Club for under $750. We have annual passes and don't need to buy tickets and the BC rates is an AP rate.

We like to eat both lunch at dinner at sit down places but we never snack and we think of the restaurants like attractions - we enjoy them. I have my DDE card and will save 20% on meals so we'll probably spend with tip $100 to $150 a day ( we like a bottle of wine with dinner).

We'll probably buy a couple of t shirts - so all together it will be something like $1200 for the long weekend.

What airline do you fly? Do you do the mileage programs?

We always stay for 21days and share them between Disney and Universal, as we only get to go every 3 years (and the third week is usually only a minimal cost extra). We still havent done everything though! And when looking at prices I ring around and check online EVERYWHERE! Its surprising how much travel agents can suddenly knock off when you get a cheaper quote!

Just wondering if its as expensive to get to and stay from other locations?

From the UK - Yes !!! There's only so many planes that cross the Atlantic each day and with many more people wanting to fly than there are seats then the carriers can virtually charge what they like.

If that price is for 5 adults, return airfare, villa and car hire (and insurance) then its a pretty good deal for three weeks

It might be a good deal but you could probably get it cheaper if you looked around.
