How Many Times To Visit Each Park?

This Sept. will be my 6th trip to WDW.
We don't get the park hopper.
We will be staying for a week.

How many times do you recommend visiting each park?...
We usually visit the MK more than once because it is my favorite.
We also usually visit Epcot more than once because it takes us more than one day to cover it all.
We usually visit DHS & the AK for a full day each.

What is your recommendation?

Thanks!

A typical 7 day trip for us would be:

3 days MK
2 Day Epcot
1 Day Studios
1 Day AK

Most of our trips are 8-9 days and include a day at Sea World, like in May we have:

3.5 MK
2.5 Epcot
1 Sea World
1 AK
1 Studios

But we sometimes mix it up more.

I've never not done the park hopper, as I can't seem to just do one park per day. But if I did, I would probably do:

5 day:

2 days EPCOT
1 day MK
1 day Studios
1 day AK

6 day:

2 days EPCOT
2 days MK
1 day Studios
1 day AK

7 day:

2 days EPCOT
2 days MK
2 days Studios
1 day AK

Can I ask why you don't get the park hopper option? Just curious, that's all! I don't know how to plan without it... I'm interested to see how'd you do up your itinerary!

I have commitment issues... I can't commit to one park for a full day!

We leave Friday for 5 days - we will spend
2 Epcot
1 MK
1 Animal
1 Hollywood

If we switch this (as we are going again the end of June for the pin trading event) it would be 2 in MK and 1 in Epcot. The pin trading event is always held in Epcot so I'll be there for several days at the end of June.

We have 5 people...it saves us $$$ not to get the park hopper.
Plus, w/ 3 kids, we usually can't do more than 1 park per day anyway.

I have 5 people coming on this next trip as well... but I still hand over the money for the park hopper! We usually go back to the resort in the middle of the day and then we'll head somewhere different afterwards! I guess I just like mixing up my days a little.

I am impressed that you can plan without... I wish I could do the same - it would save a few dollars!

Our last trip, we had several members of our party who didn't want to spend the extra for park hoppers. We were there 8 days and it was never a problem. We broke up our days with swimming, meals at the hotels, etc. So we never felt like we stayed too long in one park.

We planned two days for each park, but some of the days we made sure to leave our options open. We scheduled dinners at hotels on the days we went to the parks for the second time. That way if we didn't feel like we spent enough time in a particular park and wanted to go back there instead of the scheduled park, we had the flexibility to do so.

If you don't have park hoppers, and reserve all your table service meals in a park, you can't really change it up.:)

Personally, I don't get park hoppers, but not to save money. Park hopping feels like a waste of time to me. I park hopped back in the day, and I couldn't handle all the time it took to walk out of one park and travel to another park. I prefer to focus on one park per day and get the most out of my day there. Typically, we go for 8 days, and it works out like this

MK 3
Epcot 2
DAK 2
DHS 1

The two days in AK are for my wife, who loves AK. I like it just fine, but I could see all I need to see there in one day.

That's me...the planner! :D
If it's hot, we usually do the park that is chosen for the day that morning, rest during the hot midday hours & go back in the evening to the same park.

i'd give MK 2 days -- lots of rides that require fastpass to avoid long lines
Epcot 2 days
DHS 1 day
DAK 1 day
always leave one day open to go back to your fav!

I'm not sure how we'd do it without park hoppers, but with them we do something like this over 8 days. A lot of our Epcot time is spent inside restaurants.

3 MK
1.5 Epcot
0.5 DHS
1.5 AK
1 TL
0.5 BB

We usually get there Saturday late afternoon / early evening. Our schedule is usually something like this:

Sunday - all day Magic Kingdom

Monday - all day Animal Kingdom

Tuesday - all day Epcot (focusing mostly on Future World)

Wednesday - no parks - either spend time at the resort pool, Downtown Disney or resort hopping/meals at various resort restaurants

Thursday - all day DHS

Friday - all day Epcot (focusing mostly on World Showcase)

Saturday - all day Magic Kingdom

Sunday - fly home

(when we have done 7 day trips, we either eliminate the no park day or the 2nd Epcot day... but I prefer the 8 day plan)

I agree that is the perfect itinerary. also, like to schedule a late flight to possibly do some shopping or some resort hopping. that second EPCOT day is great for a big breakfast ADR or a pirate cruise.
