How Long Is Too Long?

If money was no object, how long would you make your ultimate vacation stay in WDW, before you think you would have had your fill? My longest trip was 8 nights, and I wasn't anywhere NEAR ready to leave. I'm thinking, for me, about three weeks. How about you? Be real now!

How long is too long

If money was not an object, I would say maybe 3 weeks. Since we've been there a dozen times or so, it might be closer to two weeks.

I think I could do what some others have done too, and live there. See a park every weekend! I'd never grow tired of it.

As for a vacation, I think after about a month I'd have my fill. But this woud mean taking it easy, going for a lot of water parks, shopping malls, and seeing everything from Tampa to Cape Canaveral.

I'd say 3 weeks max for me too...as much as I love Disney I would start to miss my house. 3 weeks would give me enough time to explore things I still haven't seen and take all the pictures I wanted without worrying about running out of time.

The longest we have ever stayed was 9 nights, last year and this year. This year, it was supposed to be 10 nights, but I wasn't feeling well, and we left a day early.

Next year will be the first trip for our daughter and the first trip since having kids, that we won't have a kid back at home with grandma. So we'll be staying a little longer, without having to feel rushed to get back home to our child. But even so, we will still only be there 12 nights...2 nights at the Nickelodean Suites, 5 nights at the Polynesian and 5 at the Beach Club. I really have no desire to be there much longer than that. Possibly a full two weeks, but even that would be pushing it. So I would say no longer than two weeks. And this includes off property days, like a day at Sea World, the Beach, shopping, etc.

I've stayed in Orlando for 2 weeks, but it was off-site for a Florida vacation and not just Disney. We did the main parks, but missed a lot of things. It didn't feel like a "Disney vacation". I think 2 weeks of all things Disney would suffice for me. I'd like to see the water parks - which I have yet to ever visit. I'd like to do some of the tours that I've never done, maybe do a fireworks cruise, and eat at some new places. After 2 weeks I'd miss my pets, and my home.

about two weeks. I would switch off every day what we do though like 1 day in the parks then the next day going to Downtown Disney. Next day in the parks and then the day after playing golf.

For a vacation, 2 weeks would be the most I would enjoy. That would include splitting up the parks, trying tons of great new restaurants, and enjoying the other recreation of Disney and the Orlando area.

Living there would be a different thing altogether.

I could take Disney every day forever, but I'd get sick of Orlando and Florida.

If I had my way I'd own a property very close by, and come down once a month or so for a week. I couldn't live there again - I did it once, FL just wasn't the place for me to live. If only we could move WDW to the North East where we have seasons and such. ;)

Well I find it necessary to go to the World at least once a year! So if money wasn't an object I would go at least once every season, that way I could see it at it's best during it's festivals and celebrations.

We usually go for 10 days every two years and are usually ready to head home by the 10th day. :lookaroun Don't get me wrong...I LOVE WDW just as much as the next person on here, but 10 days seems just about right for my wife and I before we both get homesick. Although, I could easily see us spending 2 weeks down there. It would be really nice to be able to spend a couple of days at each water park and not have to try and squeeze everything in. Plus, we both like to drive off property a few times each trip to explore more of what Florida has to offer. I would probably bookend a WDW trip with a trip to both coasts if we DID go down there for more than 10 days for sure.

Now if money was no object, I could probably see us going a couple of times a year instead of just once every couple of years. I think we would probably keep the length at 10 days though, just make the frequency of the trips more.

:sohappy:

Our last three or four trips to WDW were 9 days each. We're planning two weeks for February 2012. More time to do the little things we enjoy.

Good question although not exactly new.
My trips have expanded from one day in 1982 to 11 days during my last visit and that is still not even far enough. When we went for 11 days last year we still were not fed up with WDW at all. The last day was a hard one, saying goodbye took almost until park closing, we were among the last guests that left the MK and on the next day at least were for hours in DTD.
So 11 days is definitely not enough for us. We only stay on property since 2007 and our next trip there will be a full 2 week stay with 10 days in the parks, 1 day in a water park, 2 days at Universal and 1 day relaxing.
but that is only due to the money. If money were no issue than I could stay easily for four weeks at least. Changing the deluxe resort every week from the WL to the Poly, to the Contemporary to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Trips to DTD would be much more relaxing because there wouldn't be the feeling of "we are losing time we could spend in a park".
If I could stay as long as I want and I could eat and drink and shop as much as I wish 2 months could be possible, perhaps even more. I could spend entire days just by lying at the beautifully themed pools in the resorts reading books, with brief visits of perhaps 2-3 hours to the parks. Perhaps I would do some sports. But not more than three months however.

Me...I would do it different...i would stick to the 9/10 day trips like we do right now..but I would take 2 or 3 a year instead of ONE. And one of them would be at Christmas. I would give anything to be able to spend every Christmas at Disney instead of at home!! :xmas:

We stayed for 2 solid weeks on our last trip; long enough to catch the last Halloween party in the MK and the first Christmas party. Even with 2 weeks, we still didn't get to do everything WDW has to offer!

I still have never been to Universal, Sea World, or any of the other parks in the Orlando area. On my next trip (whenever that will be), I hope to at least pay a visit to Universal, especially since they now have Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

No clue about how long is too long for me. This was the longest vacation I have ever taken in my life, and there's still LOTS more to do in the area! :animwink:

Our last trip was for two weeks. I really wanted to stay for 3 and I could stay for four. The biggest problem was actually the kids. They were getting home sick. Soooo it would be an adult only trip. What I like about that much time is that you can walk by things that are way to crowded and say "I will be back when you are less crowded". And if money was no problem we would get to do every tour that I have wanted to do. That right there would take about a week worth of time.

Well when i worked there back in the early 90's i use to visit the parks almost everyday after work. Now that i work some where else, i would stay for at least a year. Try different resorts and other places.
