As you can see from my TR I posted, that we had an absolute blast being back at the World; and especially this time for us since we were with newbies!

Of course, I know everyone plans before hand and anticipates months ahead of time for when that day comes to leave for the World. Then sadly that last day comes around and its time to leave back to reality.

Once back, you're still on that vacation feeling, or 'high' from being at Disney the week before and you think about all that you did. So, how long do you keep that feeling? Do you lose it immediatley and go into a depression, or do you keep that 'high' by being on sites like this, planning future trips, etc.?

Do you always have that 'Disney high'???

Crush Dude!

Yeah it's going back to work that kills me. Gotta start planning that next trip, even if you don't know exactly when it will be!

For me it hits the night before we are to leave, because I sm getting everything packed up, then the AM of leaving I always cry like a baby and so does my DD-11, my poor DH has 2 emotional females on his hands.

The day back to work I cannot not focus I spend most of it sharing the vacation w/ co-workers that probably care less. It takes me several weeks to fighting getting back to reality routine.

I tend to start getting the blahs when I'm a day out before leaving...I'm packing to go home, dreading the longgg ride from Orlando to good ole' Kennesaw, GA but then realize that HEY! we still have all day today and the morning we leave...and usually the morning we leave it's a special breakfast somewhere. This year FINALLY after trying for 3 years...we are having brekky with the Princesses at CRT - woohoo! Then reality sets back in on the drive home...but that's when we are already planning our next trip!

On the last day at WDW, when we walk under the train station at MK and take one last look at the park, knowing its all over and there is nothing left to do except go home, it usually sets in around then.

Absolutely! The depression hits big time once the DME shows up. Like I said in a thread I started, there is nothing that I can think of that gives me such joy and pain than the Disney's Magical Express.

For me, the "high" goes away after a few weeks but I try to keep it going with pictures, etc... for as long as I possibly can.

Day After I Get back. Cause the day I fly back I am usually so tired, I can't think Straight so the next day its like "Oh I'm Not in Disney Anymore When Am I going NExt ?" it usually 2 years away and I get sad but have to go to work.

Eh - I'm good for a few months. I get home, I love to look through the pictures, set up my scrapbooks, talk about my trip, etc. It also helps if I have another trip planned out.

I can't wait to read a trip report from newbies! I am so happy for you guys!
My depression starts early and goes down hill steadily.
It starts when I pack up all of my stuff.
It gets worse when I leave my last park and the Beach Club.
DME is sadder yet.
After arriving in LAX, I see the people lining up to board a flight to MCO. That brings a tear to my eye.
Coming home and unpacking is more heartache.
Going back to work is agony.
I can't even come to the boards for a while after a trip. It hurts too much to see people getting ready to leave for their trips.
I am eternally grateful to live near a Disney park to help with the depression.

I plan our next trip on the way back home for Disney World, so I always keep the high going. Trip after trip ,and it never gets old...agree?

I think it is a little of both, you come home with a renewed sense of life, having taken a break from your normal routine and "reality", but right away you are in Disney Depression, you want back in! We have been back since 9/13 and we keep trying to plot how we can make it back just for a 3 day weekend! The plane tickets just shut that down!
Glad you had a great time, hope you can get back soon and I look forward to seeing your photos posted.

The high lingers for a couple weeks after...Although we usually have the next trip down on paper with a date, we verbally plan it on our long drive back to VA. (Next year we might go to the Halloween party, then again in February.) Surely helps pass the time in the car and knowing theres a trip back to the World makes going home, not so painful.

Ditto. I love looking at my pics when I get back. I start planning the next trip right away.
