How does the Gift from Mickey/Personal Shopper work at the resorts?

I read on the December trip thread about the Gift from Mickey and Disney Personal Shopper. How does it work in the resorts? I would love to have a gift waiting for my daughter at our room when we arrive XMAS week, being this is her first visit. Thanks for the knowledge. Don V.

Well, I am not 100% on this, but I think that your order arrives and stays at the Front Desk until you check in. Of course, if you have already checked in, I assume it would go to your room?

Honestly, I have not done this yet, but am planning to do so this December for my daughter. She 'knows' that Mickey, the Princesses, Mary Poppins and Santa all know she is coming to visit, so I want to have something waiting for her "from Mickey and the gang." I guess it will most likely be at the front desk when we arrive.

I have two sites bookmarked: The Disney Florist and the Disney Personal Shopper. I started a thread about these yesterday looking for feedback on them. It seems most people use the Florist and are happy with it. No feedback on the Personal Shopper as yet. (And since the thread is off of Page 1, probably won't get any! :lookaroun )

Yes, I know I could get it all cheaper and bring it myself, yada, yada, yada...BUT I want it to be part of the magic for her and, truth be told, for me as well!

I'm curious how the Personal Shopper would work also. Even though this will be our 5th family trip, it's the 1st time we'll be seeing The World decked out for the holidays. I, too, am interested so I can possibly have a little something waiting for my boys. :animwink:

Hey mnfootballmommy! We'll be at CR from Nov.30 - Dec.9! Very cool!

Just a thought...but Disney Dollars may be neat for her to have in her assortment of goodies. I know I love getting them, and usually have some waiting for me at the check in from either family or friends. Its an easier way to spend money and not feel bad about it.

I called Disney Florists today to arrange for a gift for my best friend as our trip in October is her birthday trip. She told me it would be delivered to the Pop Century the day we check in. I'm assuming it will be waiting for us when we get to the room.

Our most recent trip was in February so our boys each got an envelope with 200 Disney Dollars in their stockings at Christmas. Maybe having a little envelope waiting for them at check in with some dollars would be a good idea. Food for thought.... ;)

I think the Disney Dollars are a GREAT idea! When we went in '04, I printed out monthly calendars and sent them to my niece who was going with us. Once the calendar was X'ed out, I sent a new calendar and five Disney Dollars to her. It was a great countdown for her, plus she then had her own money to spend when we got there. Unfortunately, my daughter will not quite be three when we are there, so all she cares about is 'stuff!'

Personally, I am liking the "Disney Welcome" basket on the Disney Florist site, but have no clue how I would get that danged basket home on the plane along with all of my 'real' souvenirs! :ROFLOL: May have to go with the Ears to You instead or contact them for a custom container thingy...

Thanks for all the advice, I am already on the grandparents with Disney Dollars as Christmas gifts. If anyone decides to go forward with the Disney personal shopper and visit WDW before Christmas, then I implore you to let us know if it was successful or not. My goal would be to get a basket in our room before we got there, not just at the front desk. Keeps the ideas coming. Thank you! Don V.

I'll be there in mid-October and have arranged for a gift basket from Disney Florists to be delivered to the Pop Century the day we check in. I can let you know if it's waiting for us at Guest Services or in the room, although I think it will most likely be in the room waiting for us as there will be a Happy Birthday balloon attached to it.

Here's the thing about baskets/flowers/balloons etc being in the room prior to check in:

No one can guarentee that anything will be in your room upon arrival UNLESS you are staying conceirge. Room assignements change all the time.

You do have a few options with this:
1) ask for the item to be delivered after you have checked in (arrange a time when you can get out to the pool, dinner, park etc)
2) ask the front desk to hold the item and bring it to your room later

Whether you use:
www.disneyflorist.com (flowers, balloons, baskets)
www.peggyssweetsandmore.com (baskets)
www.giftsofalifetime.com (merchandise delivery etc)

the policy is the same. All 3 companies are great to work with and all will do their best to ensure something *magical* for your loved one.

I've used Disney Florist all the time. We get a gift basket everytime we go so we have little snacks in the room. We've had the basket come into the room later on in the day of the first day. It always makes everyone smile. This time is my mom's 85th birthday and I would really like to do something special for her. Just can't figure it out yet!

I am going to do this on our next trip. I am wanting to get Pal Mickey next time and I think that it would be so cute to have him in the room for the kids along with a gift basket. :)
