Elizabeth (PinkRose) and I were friends from another message board we posted on, and while she was planning a trip to WDW in 2003, she found this place and brought me along!

Thanks, Eliz! :sohappy:

Yay Elizabeth! Hi Lisa!

I was looking for information before a seventh grade field trip to Epcot, and Yahoo! led me here. I read a topic about CoP becoming a seasonal attraction and registered to join in on the discussion.

Well I found 'magic' while searching for Disney related sites twice (Yahoo!)...the first time I found it I didn't join up (how silly of me)....the second time, I did...and then I got addicted....after a couple of months I became a premium to help Steve out....and the rest is history really...

:D

A friend from college who was (is) a member told me about it. I don't think he posts much anymore, but if you ever see anything from bdhowell, say hi!

I think it was yahoo searching for WDW news or rumors.
It was a while until I signed up for the forums and looked at more than the front page rumors.

I joined on September 6, 2001, which of course was only days before September 11, 2001, and I remember coming straight here the next day to see everyone's reactions, and news about WDW reactions (since it could have also been a target). I will never forget the picture of flag at half mast on a near-empty Main Street, USA, that was taken on that date (or perhaps the next day). It stuck in my mind. And, of course, who can forget the "This is terrible..." thread from that date that we resurrect every year. That thread, since it happens in "real time," is amazing to read... Better than the newspaper for capturing the time period...

As to what brought me here to begin with, it probably was a search, since we had been planning to come down on October 1, 2001, for the star-studded beginning of the 100 Years of Magic campaign. We had tickets to see Regis do "Millionnaire" at the Play-It stage in MGM Studios... But, of course, that was postponed to December, and our trip ultimately was cancelled for the same reason (uncertainty about traveling at the time)....

Wow, memories! Thanks for this forum, Steve.

Hi :)

I'm interested in finding out how you found WDWMAGIC. Was it via a search engine, a link on another site, a guide book, TV, a newspaper, a friend, or some other way. Thanks :)
Long story.... I used to post on intercot and several of us had a problem with the owner of that site and several people including MKT, DMC-12 and merhearted told me about this site.
The last straw for me was when I was having a very bad week... I was in a bad car accident, my sister was in a bad car accident the next day and I got word that a good friend of mine who was moving to Texas was killed in a car accident, a semi jack knifed and a pole that was on the truck sliced through the windshield and impaled him. I posted this and said I was having the week from hell and I was sent a nasty note asking me to edit the word hell out or risk being banned from the website.

Right after I invented the internet, I said it needs some flavor. . .

No, that was somebody else.

I remember - a Google search.

This is a great site. Thanks, Steve!

I was googl-ing for information about Mission: Space. For some reason, this site always seems to get the good info. first. It took me a couple of months to get the courage to register.

Looking for information about Mission: Space thru Google.

Honestly I can say this site is life changing. I met a friend, through this site that lives not too far from me, who introduced me to the WDWCP and now i'm hoping to move to Florida in January to work for Disney. All thanks to WDWMagic.

Plus it changed my life cause I spend every free minute browsing these forums LOL

You rock Steve!

A student asked me to check it out because he knew I would get hooked and he could check out the perks on my computer - I believe I became a paying member immediately. Best money I ever spent, great value and an amazing community that has become more like family. Can't put a price on that, but since you did Steve, thanks for making it affordable.

Thanks Steve for bringing the magic into our lives no matter where we are! :sohappy:

I looked up anything and everything I could Disney related and found lots of cool information. I stumbled onto this site in July of 01 and registered but it was under my father-in-laws computer and when I moved into my new house I lost all the names, info, sites and passwords I ever had. I started fresh in december 01 under lamarvenoy and I've been here ever since. I'm on here usually once day or sometimes 3-5 times a day and I read most of the posts but I don't comment very often. This is the only website I frequent daily besides my buisness related site and my email addresses.
