How California theme parks will enforce out-of-state visitors ban - OCR/SCNG

Sorry, misread. I thought they were talking about letting out of staters in for some reason.
Ah, right.

I doubt they would check vaccine passports anyway. If the state is serious about it, they should demand it of people flying in. I would actually welcome that, as it is grounded in science. I’d have no problem presenting my vaccine passport and results from a rapid test for my kids on arrival in CA.

I also made park reservations. I think they will be checking photo ID though, so I will probably be out. I do have a VAX card though. It’s easier to vote in CA than go to DL. LOL
I am pretty sure Disney will NOT be checking ID's. The state doesn't require it. Just check a box at registration.

>>In-state visitors only. Information will be prominently placed on all communications, including the Reservation and Ticketing systems, to ensure guests are aware of Reservation and Ticketing Requirements. At the time a guest makes a park reservation and purchases park tickets, the park operators must obtain an attestation that when visiting the park, the guest’s party size will not contain more than 3 households and the guest, and all members of the guest’s party will be in-state visitors.<<

Someone on Disboards (ugh...) claimed they randomly checked at USH.

SeaWorld San Diego is now operating as a theme park with rides, indoor and outdoor animal exhibits, and outdoor live animal presentations with physically-distanced seating. Per state COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to California in-state visitors, and now out-of-state visitors will be required to show proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccine or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their park visit (required for guests 3 & up). Guests may also be asked to present proof of residency upon entry. Party sizes may not contain more than 3 households. To adhere to capacity guidelines, and for the health and safety of our animals, employees and guests, reservations and proper face coverings are required to enter the park.

Now I just need Disneyland to get on board so I can feel comfortable buying tickets. I've had a mid-May DVC reservation at the Grand Californian booked since last winter, but can't pull the trigger on tickets without knowing for sure I'll get in. Wife and I are fully vaccinated so I'm ready for it.

If you go to their ticket page it still says "California Resident 1 day" and "California Resident - Universal Express"

We'll see how long that lasts.
Yep. Changes under way. Will be curious to see how long it takes Disney to do the same. They have park capacity to spare, and they don’t have to worry about getting mobbed. Only big-time fans will deal with the testing/vaccine requirement, however long it lasts.

Why do you guys think a lot of out of state people will suddenly come to Disneyland when they could have gone to Disney world this whole time?

Disneyland was already seeing attendance from people out of state prior to the pandemic.

I don’t know about a lot of non residents coming, but they will come. Not everyone wants to go to Disney World, even when Disneyland is closed.

Because CA isn’t FL. I’d like variety. I’ve been to WDW during Covid. Europe isn’t an option. CA is something new.

Plus some people live closer to DL.

And I would not suggest “a lot” will deal with vaccine or testing. But some. And they’ll book a hotel. It is certainly worth something to Disney.
