Out-of-state fans can attend concerts in California now, state officials say

The state of music festivals remains unclear as state officials decline to directly discuss their status as the pandemic continues to ease.

Based on statements from health officials on Wednesday, that appears to open the turnstiles to full capacity concerts in California again. Even so, earlier this month some local concert and venue officials said they do not plan to do so immediately.

Asked whether any of the current caps on attendance will remain after June 15, the California Department of Public Health spokesperson said they would not.

“When California fully reopens the economy, all stay-at-home orders will be lifted and the Blueprint for a Safer Economy will end,” according to the email reply from state health officials. “However, common-sense health measures such as masking will remain across the state. Testing or vaccination verification requirements will remain in relevant settings.”<<

I do wish they’d be clear on “relevant settings” for testing or vaccine. I assume live entertainment or sporting events with people packed in?

Let’s be real. 2 months ago, no one had any idea when DL would reopen. It reopens in 3 days. A month ago, there was a hard “no out of state guests.” Before DL was even able to reopen, that softened to allowing the vaccinated (which Disney is avoiding for reasons previously discussed) and June 15 has been frequently implied as the full reopening date to all. Progress nationwide is cementing that plan.

DL is reopening sooner than many of us realistically hoped for and restrictions are going away nationwide. It is clear we won’t have to be patient too much longer.
