"Within the past few weeks, Disney has been making operational adjustments to the security screening procedure at its theme park checkpoints. Leadership changes within the department have resulted in new procedures.

While we will not detail the changes, the managers that we spoke with have indicated that there could be an increase in wait times as a result. Guests visiting the theme parks are encouraged to follow the verbal directions of the security Cast Members at the checkpoints who are trained in the newer procedures and will be able to offer the best advice when it comes to balancing safety and efficiency.

While it was not uncommon to see long lines during peak crowds, this change will affect all times of the year. Essentially, we’re told to pack your patience as Cast Members work through the changes and Disney makes adjustments. "

I wonder if the new(ish) scanners aren't working as well as they'd hoped. I found them to be a pretty good balance of speed & safety in my visits since they rolled them out - even if my darn keys and eyeglass case always set of the alarm no matter how far away from by body I hold them.

They just don’t have enough man power to handle the number of guests at peak times. More than half of the screening area is not in use.

Met an senior citizen CM that loved to work and did not want to stay home. He’s collecting a navy pension after serving 20 years , a supermarket pension after working another 20 years , collecting social security and had worked at DHS in his 60s . That was years ago.
Right, but that's an exception not a rule. You can't staff the entire resort with work obsessed bootlickers that don't actually depend on the paycheck to survive.

I think given the shootings at a supermarket in Buffalo NY, and earlier today in Texas, I would not be surprised if we're going to see Disney likely increasing security measures at their parks.

Immediately after 9/11 also around the pavilion of Morocco at Epcot. The previous security attire reminded me of the Good Humor ice cream man
