Hour long wait to get through TTC security today - May 23

That’s funny because every time I call the Magic back, they put me on hold for 5 hours. I love the hold music but I shouldn’t be able to memorize the order of the songs for the entire loop, yet here we are and here I am, burdened with this knowledge.

Answer the damn call!
It’s exactly these kinds of failures that keep me away. No way I am going to wait on hold for hours to book a premium experience like the star cruiser… they should be catering to me… not me being a bootlicker begging for my chance.

They have fallen so far…

I could swear when we got off the bus at Disney Springs in March that you were routed to an area with scanners? When taking the boat from Port Orleans, you definitely went through scanners at DS.
I took both the bus and the boat from OKW the first week of May. There were no scanners at either point of entry.

WDW constantly finding ways to make guest satisfaction go lower and lower, and at the same time emptying your wallet more and more. SMH. 😞
They have a plan - run the parks into the ground while grabbing as much money as they can then they will have an excuse to sell them off. Long game here and Bob the former set it in motion many years ago.
Hearing the immanent demise is at hand for 15 years, is it here yet?

They just don’t have enough man power to handle the number of guests at peak times. More than half of the screening area is not in use.
I can confirm this based on our visit three weeks ago. Same goes for the turnstiles, even at opening. It was a mess.

Yes the trams are not running first thing, which results in a mass of guests walking in. Combined with the low numbers of operational checkpoints, it creates a backlog. The whole process if very poorly operated and is a terrible way to start the day at the park.
I just can't imagine why the trams are not running the first two hours of the day. There is no logical reason for it.

haha. it actually seems like one of the easier things to do. Dedicated Lightning Lane for security - something like those seen at airports. Money is being left on the table! lol

I should go work for Disney and implement knock-offs of TSA PreCheck, CLEAR, and Global Entry. And they're tiered, make money, and tend to sow traveler confusion for profit.

With respect, I'm not talking to the name tags.

Secondly, I'm not saying they aren't at fault (entirely anyways). They could raise wages and solve this problem, but they refuse to. They are luring people with temporary sign on bonuses.

Which is why it’s not working…nor should.

Disney wants a low wage structure that was blown apart by covid…and you can’t really reset that dial. Now they’ll need to increase to just keep pace with the rising cost of necessities.

No they haven't - their wage increases were already on the calendar before the pandemic. And those scheduled increases already look behind the new expectation because the pandemic escalation of wages is a jump like no one has seen in ages.

Their wage tables are fixed - they are only offering things like hiring bonuses.
Wages have to be tied to the cost of living in Orlando or the problem compounds. Disney knows this…they are - BS Aside - hoping the economy knocks the unskilled labor force back down to the minimum/desperation levels. No joke. And the other problem in Orlando is that the services gobble up any wage increases before they ever arrive. So well publicized. All that “free covid money” and “bonuses”. Check the average rent costs and prices on the shelves at Publix from 2020 to today. I haven’t…but I know exactly what you’ll find. It’s more obvious in Orlando than anywhere else.
And why Disney got so exposed when their sources of discounted labor like elderly, students, and imports all got constrained. They aren't really attracting people in a competitive labor market.
Hmmmm…Disney’s ministry of truth is gonna have a word with you for disclosing this kinda privileged information.

You forgot the "+" on Disney PreCheck!

It's Chapek's park. You can have both. Disney PreCheck and Disney PreCheck+.

Disney PreCheck costs you money and it merely gives you recommended times to get in line (e.g. Arrive at 8:45 PM for your best line experience!), while the + version, for a higher charge, provides that extra Disney magic by assigning you a time to get in line (e.g. Arrive at 7:00 PM and be guaranteed a wait no longer than 60 minutes!).
