Hot Fudge Sundaes

So goofy question, but my soon-to-be-wife and I's honeymoon begins sundae (er...Sunday), and she loves hot fudge sundaes. I know Ghirardelli has great hot fudge sundaes, but we aren't going to Downtown Disney since it kind of sucks these days, so I'm wondering where else has great sundaes? We are kind of "ice cream snobs" so I'm looking for that delectable, thick, hot fudge that you can't find most places anymore, not the thin, Hershey's syrup type rubbish. For the life of me, I can't remember what type of fudge Disney uses, and since this is important to my fiancee, I want to ensure she gets a great sundae :slurp:

Where's the best of the best in the parks and/or resorts?

"sucks" ??? We still love DD, but don't brush Ghirardelli's off, it's worth it...

Well, the Plaza Restaurant in MK has really good hot fudge brownie sundaes, and Beaches and Cream is pretty good too. Either of those wuls suffice.

is the hot fudge at the Plaza and Beaches and Cream ACTUAL hot fudge (i.e. fudge melted that solidifies when it comes into contact w/ the ice cream and tastes decadent)?

Congrats on your upcoming WDW honeymoon!

Take her to Beaches and Cream for the Kitchen Sink at the Beach Club...it'll be a fun experience! And I believe there is fudge in it.

Well, I know the Plaza has really good fudge. I had ordered the Brownie sundae one time and for some reason, they forgot the brownies...so, to make up for it our CM/server brought a huge plate of brownies...no charge. That was great...

I'm in ice cream snob, too. Before DH and I had kids, our favorite thing to do was to go to the ice cream place!!! I have to have the real fudge, too. That hersheys syrup just isn't the same. It's gotta be thick and fudgey. I get you, I really do!

I've heard great things about Beaches and Cream. We're going to try it when we go in September.

Have fun and congrats!

I adore Ghirardelli's with every fiber of my being!

But for an alternative, I did enjoy the Oreo concoction over at Beaches and Cream....the Fudge Mudslide. :slurp: It was fantastic! The hot fudge was really thick and the brownie was rich and delicious. You know what...that's one of the sundaes I got whilst on my honeymoon.

As mentioned, the Plaza restaurant on Main Street does a great, real hot fudge brownie sundae.

Also, I love the brownie sundae at Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom. It's quite large and advertised "for two".

You absolutely have to try the Hot fudge sundae at Mrs. Potts in FL--best in the parks, IMHO. Have yet to get to Beaches and Cream in the Epcot resorts, but will next trip.
