Speaking of video games. They should ring up Microsoft. How about a land off of the Elder Scrolls, or even a Skyrim ride. Microsoft is swimming in gaming IP since their acquisitions and has no desire to open their own parks.
and disney has partnered with microsoft multiple times with games based on theme park IPs (kinect disneyland adventures, sea of thieves: a pirate's life, minecraft walt disney world: magic kingdom)

Generally speaking…it’s very difficult for large segments of the population to allocate the time to engage in gaming. And most that do still fall in small “baskets” of demographics

Movies/tv are much easier to enjoy for most of the consumers

I'm not sure it's even that -- I think it's that there's such gigantic differences between video game genres. There are millions and millions of people who play video games but only play sports games, only play shooting games, etc.; there's a lot of completely separate communities of game players that do not play the same games as other groups.

Of course that's true of film too to an extent, but there are more fundamental similarities between different film genres than there are between at least some video game genres. A football video game and a first person puzzle game are essentially entirely different things.

His name is "Josh".
another thing i've noticed among disney fans lately - bob chapek is always "chapek" and josh d'amaro is always "josh"... chapek is always framed as the villain, and d'amaro is always framed as the savior that will come to the rescue at just the right moment to slay the dragon

i'm probably overthinking this entirely but i think it's interesting, even if it's subconscious stuff

That’s a CM coping mechanism…it’s happened many times before.

Minecraft is the best selling video game of all time by over 100 million copies; it's an outlier. Aggregating multiple games across an IP franchise doesn't make sense because it's often the same people buying every new version (this is true of movie franchises too -- it doesn't make sense to combine the ticket sales for Infinity War and Endgame as though they are independent events, e.g.).

Even Minecraft doesn't compare, though. 238 million copies is a lot, but big blockbuster films sell 300+ million tickets, and then get millions more new views via rental, home purchase, etc.

Most games, even the biggest ones, don't sell more than a few million copies -- Skyrim, which is one of the best selling games ever, has roughly 30 million sales. That's a drop in the bucket compared to blockbuster films.
True, Minecraft is the best selling game ever. That is why I suggested it. Because it is that outlier, it makes for a great candidate for an attraction. Even if you don't know Minecraft, you recognize it when you see it. People know Sonic regardless of having ever played it. Does Disney need to chase the video game market? Probably not right now. Disney is riding the we can do whatever we want and people will flood our gates bus right now. Personally I think Disney is making a mistake not tapping into the video game market. But to each their own.

1.0 has an interest in having the lauding of Disney continue for a period of time BEFORE he feels his ego is secure. If things are bad for stock and in the press in 2022/23…it looks like he left a house of cards.

I'm not saying I'm personally opposed to it -- and Minecraft is probably the one video game IP out there that would be a draw -- it's just that Disney would have to pay a license fee to use it, and from a business standpoint that doesn't really make sense. Why pay to license something when you already own similarly popular IPs that you haven't used?

Because there are two Bobs, Iger and Chapek, there's no one else higher up called Josh as far as I'm aware.

1) Replace WDI artisans with industrial designers that build out soulless suburban mixed use projects

2) “Huh. Why does the concept art for the DVC Polynesian Tower look like the rollout of a generic anchor tenant for a new shopping center in Schaumburg?”
Hey!

She managed the development of really fancy urgent cares…Thank you very much😡

I think a deal with SEGA would be even more beneficial.
I think it would be smart to do small scale deals with Sega and possibly Capcom to plus up the play paviliion a bit more and see how popular those characters are (or not). It would be nice if they could shift some capex to the former attraction spaces and forget about the bar table. Then they more or less have a video game pavilion.
