I never understood why they removed him in the first place.

Because his audio would have interfered with the "subtle" film additions.

I miss that skull ... and the talking parrot that used to be out front ... and all the other effects like the cannon sound efx and water features around adventureland. Any chance of those canon sfx making a comeback outside? Please?

The Mermaid Skellitons are cut, so is the lighthouse, but the Skull on the left is already complete, just waiting on a lighting package

What do you mean by cut? Are there going to be no mermaids or lighthouse?

Nah. It's a large rock formation on the left as you approach the beach scene.
Properly lit, it looks like a skull.

Oh well... at least it's something.

That is how I read it first then I re-read it and am now confused. haha. It would be pretty lame to just add a rock shaped skull.

lol yeah it would be lame to just get that, hopefully it will be a nice new little scene. Always thought that spot was too barren, but def miss the talking skull would be great if that came back. And toning down the blue lights through there hopefully.

Hmmm... Now that you mention it, that does make more sense. The Disney Blog said that the new additions would be from the 4th POTC film and mermaids were rumored for quite a while.

Now, we wait.....

The mermaids might be cool, but I'd prefer to see them do something about the rest of the ride too, which on Wednesday looked to be in very poor shape. Many of the figures looked like they were struggling to move, or just didn't with their mouths.

Though it was a nice surprise to see the hat guy with all his hats there.

Why did they ever take the talking Parrot away? They did at DTD too. Decisions like that, just like taking the Ursula statue away from the jewelry area in World of Disney, makes no sense to me.

No, the skeletons that are currently there will remain, but no additional skeletons, and as Lee knows, there is another thing going in there, you all will just have to wait to see

Among other things, the cannons are the same as the ones used in the attraction, its a WDI thing........ So we will wait and see................
