A co-worker told me this morning they they heard on the radio that Disney is going to close a park. Is this any where near to be true? Before you ask. That is all I was told.

When they closed a water park, it was the oldest one.

So if they're closing a major park down for good, it must be Magic Kingdom.

I have no source, but I would bet my life on it not being true. Even if Disney were suffering horribly financially-speaking, it just wouldn't make any sense.

MK - it's the signature park. Wouldn't happen
AK - can you imagine the cost of taking that place apart, rehousing all the animals - and the PR nightmare?
Epcot - Just invested in Soarin' and SE refurb in the past few years. Not a chance
HS - Literally just opened TSMM and it's drawing in the crowds like crazy. Again, not a chance.

I should imagine that your co-worker isn't a Disney Addict and heard something about PI's closure.

there was a headline article last night on AOL and I think MSN news/homepage and it said "disney closing park" but it was about PI when I clicked it. So the rumor probably came from the source not reading the article and just going on the misleading headline. JMHO.

PI? Water parks for their seasonal closing?

Otherwise the only other thing I've heard is if times get really bad down here one of the 4 theme parks might close for a day during the week.

It's gotta be misinformation about PI. Either that or your leg was being pulled. It's not like, even in this economy, Disney's doing so bad.

One could make their point of a Disney park not closing by taking the "list" approach; verifying why each individual park would never close...

Or one could simply say this is bogus.

Wasn't there a Kevin Yee story around this that the Studios and AK would close early during the non peak seasons or something in that nature?
