During some of WDC's hard times in the late 80's they did not close DLP which was a load, but up +20% between 06' & 07'. All of the American parks are doing extremely well. Look at the 07' world theme park #'s. The only Disney park that is not doing well is HKDL which is down +20% between 06' & 07'. Of course the MK is untouchable @ almost a 20% lead over all the rest. So the only park I see that could ever be on the chopping block would be HKDL, but Disney will ride out the storm.

A co-worker told me this morning they they heard on the radio that Disney is going to close a park. Is this any where near to be true? Before you ask. That is all I was told.
Yes, it's true. Disney wants to close Universal. No word yet on whether Universal will go along with this plan.

That's true (except dates - DLP is celebrating its 15th anniversary as we speak) - when I googled "Disney park to close" to get more info when this thread started, I found this article from NY Times in 1994, where Michael Eisner is quoted as saying that closure might have been a possibility.

Wasn't there an article on the web yesterday about how good Disney is Doing in this economic downturn? Sorry I could not find it again, but Iger was talking about how good Disney parks were doing.

So A Disney Park Closing, not likely.

I see it being one of 2 things...Either they are referring to PI or they are possibly referring to an old Kevin Yee article where he suggested that they were considering possibly closing one or more of the parks for one or two days a week.
