Harry Potter is arriving sooner than expected. What does this mean for WDW?

I've been hearing the complete opposites.

Friends have told me it was the dumbest movie they've ever seen, almost to the point of walking out, with effects that look like they are straight out of a Dreamcast game.

Random note: I love the Dreamcast...still a better console than a brand new out of the box Wii...

Carry on, wayward thread.

Or do you mean it has better games because I think that the consoles today are better then those in the past, sometimes not the wireless controller though, they work well though.

Im not really sure. Xbox 360s keep malfunctioning and have to be shipped back every other week. While my N64 that ive had since 96 still works fine.

^^^ I have heard the same. I wanted to walk out of Transformers, but my friends would have killed me.

Do NOT waste your time. I love the deeper message of this book, but honestly. UGH. Hard to get through, confusing, dull. The only reason I remotely like it and know about it is cliff notes.:lookaroun:lol:

I LOVE Heart of Darkness...great book and the inspiration for a great movie in Apocalypse Now.
You want hard to get through, try James Joyce (Ulysses, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man) or William Faulkner (Sound and the Fury, Absalom, etc.). I kinda like them, but they are really hard for me to get through. I'm a pretty smart guy (or at least I like to think so :)) but those were tough for me.

William Faulkner, with his back stories within back stories - I know what you mean. :brick:

Actually, I am hearing a lot of good things about it... unexpected good things... Like one of those movies where it looks so bad but it shocks ya that it is really good...

Don't waste your money. Go see District 9 (next week) or wait for Avatar (December). Those are REAL movies that deserve your hard earned dollars.Avatar will be showing a FREE 15 minute sample in HD 3D on August 21st in select theathers. Check www.avatarmovie.com for locations.

You want a heavy intellectual read that can be hard to get through? Check out my signature...very rewarding work, but extremely hard read.

Additionally, I've recently read David McCullough's John Adams (Pulitzer Prize winner) and 1776. Both books were well worth the time spent reading - which was considerable. This from a guy that can read a Clancy novel in two nights.

Oh...and just for fun, I read books on computer programming languages. Seriously. I'm working on my 8th language now - C#, which is really a variant of C and Java, not so much totally unknown languages to me.

I think I'm letting my inner geek out to play a bit much lately...

Now I've heard it all. Ayn Rand being compared to Faulkner and Joyce. Her books are like soap operas, hardly "intellectually challenging".

How much more drift can this thread handle before it snaps in two?

So .... 49 pages of Harry Potter belongs in the WDW News and Rumor board, but a thread comparing Universal's third quarter results with WDW's doesn't?

No further comment.

Um yeah, now we may see why all those construction walls are going up in T-Land.

WOW!

Ummm...yea. Tland is nothing. Nothing at all. Honestly. Even Steve said there won't be anything show wise added to the TTA or Space. Or are you ignoring the insiders again like you tend to do?

I don't think TL is the response WDW is making towards Harry Potter... at least I hope not.

They need a very good trick up their sleeve that will totally unexpected.
