I would be very happy to see the wand go. I can't think of any other disney park where the name of the part is thrown in your face. I mean theres not a flashing sign above the tree of life

Well if SSE has been crying since 2000 (actually 1999 is when it was put up) then why have I never gotten wet walking under it?????? Oh is it that special drain system they have set up for the rain also?
You know I never really hated the wand till I had to look at these boards every week with a new thread about it:brick:

no no no... it is for the supports to reach the 13th some odd floor of the swan and dolphin so the monrail can go through that.... on the way to the studios.Brilliant! :lol:
Maybe they need the extra steel to build the Time Racers exterior track section in the upcoming refurb - this track section I hear is going in a new location to make room for the monorail spur to the Studios.
P.S. why in the world did we fall for some crazy rumor about the TR and the track exiting SSE. after looking at so many construction photos in our 40 pages thread, im not sure the structure could hold it (if it couldnt hold a wrap around concept in 180/top).

Does anyone remember the old D-Troops article where it photoshopped the wand onto the Tree of Life to read "Animal Kingdom?" Boy was that a cool photo. Shame I can't find it, even with the Wayback Machine.

I like the wand. It's shiny. But, I've never been able to see SSE in person without the wand, and I think that would be really cool.
And everyone complaining about another wand thread? Don't open it. Seriously. Some people enjoy over-analysing things and beating them to death (me included!!!!) so let us have our fun.

from what ive been reading weve never insulted the craftsmenship or design of the wand...we just dont like what it does visually or what it represents over Spaceship Earth. It's nothing personal to the designers.
I wouldnt mind if the wand was place somewhere before entering epcot area...that would be nice.

This is absolutely amazing....all these posts based on some idiotic comment by a know-nothing security person.
When are people going to learn that frontline CM's...and that includes security don't find out anything until just before it happens. Even if this was true, it's unlikely that any security officer would have been told about until the day it was happening.

Lee, with all due respect.... if someone is in a high enough position to actually design and implement it in the park... i hope him/her has enough backbone not to get their feelings hurt by some people opposing of it. With that said, I think i can read between the lines here.
