Hand and Wand to come down?

But if you don't want to talk about the wand yourself, why even open this thread, since you must have known exactly what the title refers to...and then having opened it, why bother to post? It's like going to a Starbucks and ordering a latte then complaining there are too many coffee houses.

And back on-topic...I've really got to the point where I think the wand will be there forever, so I'm dubious. But hey, the Berlin Wall coming down was a surprise too, so never give up hope...

There's just something kinda funny about comparing the Wand to the Berlin Wall.

This has been looming for some time especially with all of Siemens work that incorportates the classic-ness of Epcot/Spaceship Earth...All i can say is YAY!!! The Geosphere that is SE is so beautiful on it's own, it doesnt need that metal reminder of a sorceror mouse...it's stands amazingly on it's own.

Im soooo happy!! Please let this happen!

I never really "hated" the wand per se' but it does throw off the scale of SE when you see it. That would be the reason why I think it should come down after 7 years.

I doubt any of us will know for sure the wand is coming down unless there is a press release or start seeing it actually coming down. That being said, those of us that prefer the classic beauty of Spaceship Earth can continue to hold out hope. This refurb is the best chance for this to happen anytime soon...

If the wand does come down then why not replace it with the hat from mgm tidying that park up in the process.

I Like the Hat aswell but not it's location...I would like it better if it would have not destroyed the look of "hollywood" with the chinese theater in the Distance etc..

I would LOVE the Hat outside right before the baggage check...it would make the entrance to MGM feel alot more "WOAH!"

You know....the wand really doesn't bother me all that much, but if it went away, that wouldn't bother me either.

Three words...Disney-Pixar Studios....The hat fits I think, right were it is. It's like Mainstreet and the Castle. My opinion though. :shrug:

The Hat is not the Park's Iconic "Building", that honor was the chinese theater before the hat's conception. MGM's castle to me is the theater. A park's centerpiece has always been there since the beginning (castle,tree,geosphere,theater)

The example you gave of a giant tiara in front of the castle is perfect for how i feel about this hat.

Like i said before I dont hate it, i just dont like where it is.
