Ok HOB I agree that WED was awesome and a lot of what they created was great. But not everything. Sometimes it feels that as an HOB member there is almost a blind allegiance to anything old, whether it’s conscious or subconscious I don’t know.

Let’s take Autopia for example. Not wanting to get rid of Autopia (which takes at least 15% of Disneyland’s current real estate) seems to be an HOB trait. If it’s not nostalgia that influences that opinion then what is it? I would guess it’s Because it’s old/ historical and it was an opening day attraction. I don’t think anyone can say with a straight face that the ride experience is worth the real estate it takes up. The traditionalist in me would like for them to find a way to keep it and make it relevant but I’m not sure what they could do to make it so. (Aside from having the cars fly). Anyway, back to the point. Any HOB member, tell me why keeping Autopia is a good idea that doesn’t have to do with nostalgia/ history.

I think it should be removed so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I'm not entirely opposed to removing Autopia, but I don't trust Disney to replace it with something worthy. It would need to ooze with charm and be remarkably iconic in the way that Autopia does/is. What could possibly deliver on that? An Ewok roller coaster? That stupid TRON ride that goes outside and makes no sense?

I don't trust them either, but as Autopia does nothing for me and oozes zero charm to me, it makes no difference to me.

Destroy Autopia idec. I used to be 100% for keeping it because it's so charming, but it takes up so much space that could be used for a few new Fantasyland dark rides as well as a bit of space for Tomorrowland. I also don't care if we lose the subs but I want the lagoon to stay and be integrated into Fantasyland. Also the Monorail track would need to be rerouted because I refuse to lose that.

If Autopia was leveled for what we see in this concept art for the MK, it would have my full support. I've always wanted to see a bit of expansion on the Matterhorn.

That’s a fair point as far as what would replace it. So if you had a vote it would be for it NOT to be replaced then?

So the attachment you have to it is based on its old school charm (which IMO Is influenced at some level by its historical value and those that worked on it) not necessarily because it’s a great experience. Isn’t that kind of what I’m saying? I mean let’s not split hairs here.

So would I. Looks like all the HOB Dont agree on everything. The Bruhs also have differing opinions. @Disney Irish Bruh and I have differing opinions on GOTG:MB.

I'd put good money down that if Burbank was going to implement a change to Autopia, it'd be another Star Wars or Pixar or Marvel property.
