Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure is open

After last week I was really starting to think Theme Parks were going to be a thing of the past for me. My body can't take the higher intensity attractions anymore... and much of the experience isn't that satisfying to me. That was after being in both UNI and MK that week. Then I convinced myself to go back to IoA for Friday night just to get some food, maybe people watch, and dabble in something that might interest me. I rode spiderman again which is still great.. and then I managed to get on Hagrids.. and after just Hagrids... I thought 'ok, maybe theme parks can still entertain me'.

It's that good.

For the record, I tried really hard not to look for those things, as in, I kept my focus straight ahead or on the show scenes, and I still saw a not insignificant amount of infrastructure and backstage views. Not enough to ruin the ride or anything but enough that I feel confident in saying this isn't a fully immersive thematic masterpiece.

It's not that big of a deal to me though, as I previously predicted it might be. The ride is just too fun.

Now, if this were, say. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train level of thrills, then I'd say no, this needs to be more immersive.

It's better than Hollywood's Hogsmeade that has an office building in the middle of it lol

I've only ridden once so far and it was at night. I'm wondering if backstage lighting leaking through actually made backstage areas stand out more than they would in the daytime, because I watched some daytime YouTube POV's and you definitely can't see much of what I was seeing.

During the day the only noticeable weak points seem to be the maintenance doors on the side of the castle at the beginning, which could be hidden with more evergreen trees, and the backwards circle as you enter the drop track building, you see the fake facade up close (though I actually didn't notice this at night) and, if I recall correctly, the unthemed backside of Hogsmeade station.

This ride obviously has an issue with visible infrastructure, but how were you seeing backstage?

They’ve had horrible luck with weather since it opened. A typical Florida summer day means afternoon storms that last an hour or two. However basically every day since the 13th it’s just been endless rain and lightning storms all day, giving them very little time to cycle.

I’m not sure actually. I felt like I got a few good views but it’s all kind of a blur. I need to ride again but the weather hasn’t been cooperating.

Yes, let’s hope the weather turns around. It’s been awful. I believe it’s supposed to return to normal soon.

So the down time was pretty severe, and after waiting for 2 hours I headed out...

I just noted that the app says the ride will be opening midday for the next couple weeks. What am I missing here? The ride doesn’t open when the park opens first thing in the morning?

It opens around noon and the line is closed off 2-3 hours before park close.

Between this short window to ride, the three hour waits, the constant downtimes, and constant storms... it’s not a good situation.

Thank you for the info! Looking forward to riding it next week!
