Had to cancel my trip

Vey sad today because I officially canceled all my reservations. I was supposed to be in the world tomorrow. My family and I were going to be driving from palm Springs California all the way to the world. I was taking my beloved dog shelby to the vet on the first and she chose to run away, and since the vet is twenty miles away from where I live, it is truly frightening. She has yet to return, and we continue to look for her, but safety comes first, and we can't drive cross country while our minds are on our Shelby. I don't expect any responses to this post, just felt like sharing. Disney will always be my saving grace, my truly happy spot, but that can't even save me until my Shelby comes home to me. Sorry for the downer.

I totally understand - our pets are family and there is no way you could live with yourself if you left while a family member was missing. Sending hugs and prayers out to you and hoping that Shelby makes it home safely.

I'm so sorry about the trip, but more sorry about the dog. We're huge dog lovers and hope to be adding a 2nd dog to our family sometime early next year. Pets are family. My kids let our dog out the front door a few months ago (they've since learned that it's a backyard only thing w/letting her out) and I had to drive around the neighborhood calling and whistling for her. Thankfully I found her a few houses away barking to be let into a neighbor's house- I think she tried to go home, but picked the wrong home. We'll be praying for the safe return of your doggy.

I am so sorry that you had to cancel your trip, but I absolutely understand your decision to do so. I sometimes tease my hubby that I love our dog more than him. If she was lost I wouldn't be able to have a single moment of fun. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for a speedy, safe return of your loved one.

I am so sorry to hear that, while I am not a dog person myself. I do understand the love and the affection one has for animals. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and hope you get to maybe not cancel the trip but postpone it.

I completely understand. We were watching my mom's dog last Summer. She ran into the woods. I spent 8 hours in 100+ heat tromping through the woods looking for her. Signs all over the neighborhood and vet offices. 4 nights later, I heard something on our porch. After 3 nights of jumping up at every sound and nothing, I thought about not looking. Well, it was her. She darted off towards the woods. I dove and barely got her collar.

Dogs are very smart. They have a way of knowing where their home is. Hope she returns soon.

I hope your dogs returns safe and sound! Disney will always be there...I consider myself mom to 3 kids (1 human and two dogs).. So I completely understand!

I'm so sorry to hear about Shelby. I am one of those people who thinks of pets as part of the family and I completely understand cancelling your trip.

I hope she comes home soon!

How devastating. I'm so sorry to hear about Shelby and hope she returns home soon. Keep us updated, as an animal lover it breaks my heart to hear when one goes missing.

:sohappy:Thank you everyone for the very kind words and prayers. She is home safe and sound! I guess she decided that since we were going to be in wdw for nine days that she too would be away from home for nine days. She's tired and hungry but a lot of tlc is coming her way. Thank you again everyone!
oh and we will be resceduling the trip, just not taking the trailer.
