I heard she was there yesterday. I work merchandise in Frontierland, so I do the Splash photo and we saw Celion Dion yesterday. It was a fellow CPer's last day so our manager let us ride Splash one last time and as we were going in through the exit, her boat was coming in and she went around again.

This procedure is as much to your benefit as to theirs. While you might be able to control yourself around a celebrity there are many people who can't or won't. Trust me, having to wait one extra ride cycle while a celebrity is brought through a back door is a far smaller price to pay when compared to the possible mob scene that could occur if someone of note were to just be walking through the park unattended.

Thank you Master Yoda,

Makes perfect sense. I live in the Wash, DC area and the Redskins are the big team here. I actually know a few of them and have been to events where I have seen folks just loose there minds..I think mg, do they realize that the only difference between them is the ball players makes more money, that really is it. I know when these guys go to events it is sad because they cannot not even be a normal person, so to my point just give them space!!

So if it helps the celeb have a normal day by me waiting for an extra ride so they do not get mobbed, then I am more than happy to do it, just did not know how it was handled.

yeah, because people at disney don't have ANYONE else present in pictures they take..

Get off your high horse and get over yourself. The pictures was taken from about 100 yards away with a cell phone...

And for what it's worth... it was a quick picture of a celebrity in public.. it's not like we were following them.. Hell, the way they kept popping up, it felt like they were following us :)... God, it's not like we fawned over her and started screaming 'It's Gwen Stefani!!!!"..

I'll let you know when I need a mommy with me to make my adult in-park decisions for me.
Wow. Freak out much?
Of course other people will be present in pics at Disney, but you were taking a picture OF THEM, not of the folliage behind them.
And regardless of where or how you took the picture... you took the picture. Rude even if it was from a mile away with a camera obscura.
I will give credit where it is due, though. Good job NOT getting in their way or asking for autographs or anything like that. That would ruin a family vacation FAR worse than someone snapping a quick picture.

This is one of those situations where I personally would not have taken a picture and just let them be. I mean, they had their children with them, how would you like it if someone was taking pictures of you and your family and was posting them on the web?

Yes they are celebrities, but let them enjoy family time as well.

Another reason why "celebrity" is completely overrated any why 99% of them are so miserable. Not Gwen though I'm sure. :)

The picture you took is fine and wasn't intrusive at all! You can't even make out the kid's face. Besides all of America has seen their kids faces up close and personal courtesy of tabloid magazines. So a pic like this one am sure they don't even care about it!
I would have taken the same picture. No Doubt had tour date in West Palm Beach the other day so it makes sense she was there. I hope they had a great time!

as wdwmagic turns....:lookaroun

I guess I'll have to go to WDW before the parks open so I don't have a single stranger in my photographs

Nothing will ever beat having Robin Williams tell the JC that we are all doing a great job. Best. Day. Ever.
I can't even think of an analogy that could describe how cool that must have been.

You would know this as well as anyone but was R Williams actually a JC skipper at one time?

Wow, that space was really needed...
The problem I have with the picture is that it's OF them. It's not of Uncle Albert and they just happen to be passing in the background.
In the future, how about you at least TRY to retain a sense of maturity when trying to make a point.

If what I've heard is correct, both Robin Williams and Steve Martin were JC skippers.

Paris Hilton waited in line for space mountain at disneyland. We were on the same train and everything.Sadly, I didn't have money to buy the ride picture.
Maybe they only let real celebrities skip the lines. :D
Whether she's a pox on humanity or not, I totally would have bought that picture if she were in my train!

I do know that Steve Martin was not. That is one of those rumors that will never die. He did work in the magic shop at DL though.

To the haters: (addressing you in a group, it's easier, and I waste less valuable celebrity-stalking time doing it this way):

I posted the thread for the members of wdwmagic that are interested in seeing when celebrities visit the parks.. If this doesn't interest you, your comments are not needed, wanted, or welcome.. Go to another thread and stomp your feet about some other random soap-box-grand-standing problem that you wish to champion that day.

Have a magical day! :sohappy:

Yes, Robin was a JC skipper at Disneyland, who was (not surprisingly) fired for inappropriate jokes. :D That's what made it so great to be told by him that we were doing a good job.

True, Martin was not a Skipper.

Steve Martin...

I saw Steve Martin on a show a while back and he said one of his first jobs was selling a daily newspaper inside Disneyland. It was a paper relating to Disneyland, I don't recall the name exactly. But if you wikipedia Steve Martin you will see this in his bio;

"His first job was at Disneyland, selling guidebooks on weekends and fulltime during the summer school break. That lasted for three years (1955–1958). During his free time he haunted the Disneyland magic shop, Merlin's Magic Shop, where tricks were demonstrated to the potential customers. By 1960 he had mastered several of the tricks and illusions, and took a job there in August 1960. [7] There he perfected his talents for magic, juggling, playing the banjo and creating balloon animals frequently performing for tips."

Ah, Gwen Stefani. She ran her fingers through my hair while No Doubt where doing a gig at the Garage Nightclub in Glasgow. I was standing in front of the stage facing the crowd, dealing with wannabe stage divers, crowd surfers and general security and she was singing 'Don't Speak'. While doing so, she knelt down at the front of the stage and proceeded to give me goosebumps. We had a chuckle about it afterwards, lovely lass.
