Guest jumps off Living with the Land boat to grab a cucumber

People doing dumb things. Sometimes alcohol pushes them, but I believe the stupid lives inside real close to the surface..they don’t need much of a shove.

When we were there 2 weeks ago, the one thing I said to my wife was how I noticed the lack of security at Epcot as what used to be there. Staff shortage issues? Idk.

my bet is that these people get caught somehow, somewhere.

the internet also fuels these stupid acts as
Well. Someone sees a “daring dumb” video and has to do something a little more daring.

How long you think it’ll be before “Cucumber Guest” tries to sue Disney for a back or ankle injury she suffered while jumping off of the ride and spins it that Disney should have had better safety measures in place to prevent guests from doing exactly what she did?

On the surface, the above statement seems absolutely ludicrous. Heck I even think it’s absolutely ludicrous. Would it surprise me if she tried? Not one bit.

I feel for the cucumber.

I know, right?

Seriously, it's the cucumber that is the real issue here.

Think about it -

Here is a beautiful little vegetable that was lovingly raised from non-exsistance and brought forth by caring hands in one of the most innovative places to take root in.
Content in it's carefree exsistance within a balmy, perfectly temperature controlled environment.
Growing stronger and fuller every day....awaiting it's zenith and then it's harvest with dignity and pride.
So blissful and at peace in its vegetative state of zen.

When ...ALL OF A SUDDEN -

From out of nowhere....

It is suddenly viciously torn from its little world of subdued sounds and caressing care by a violent act of pure arrogance that plunges our green friend into the abrasive world of self centeredness.
Ripped from its comforting blanket of blissful exsistance, it is grasped tightly by the uncaring digits of a unfeeling creature....never again to enjoy nourishment from the Earth.

Instead of being consumed in pleasure, it is disgraced to be tossed aside and ( likely ) binned in a trash can after its two minute boat excursion to Hades.
To be forgotten and left alone in the dark, surrounded by garbage, it's sad fate now to just shrivel up and perish.

Feel for that cuke.
It deserved better.

;)

Things could have changed since I left the company, but a lot of attractions (at MK at least) had no cameras when I worked there, especially legacy attractions.
Cameras I would think are aimed at the cash registers where there is that opportunity for something bad to happen.

A billion dollar company with no loss prevention team? That's not reality.
Do you think the person who took the cucumber was met immediately after the ride and escorted out?

Would you imagine it's difficult to shoplift something from a store at WDW?

Controls can exist and things still happen.

You may not realize that even some staff are not that honest hence cameras pointed at the cash register. ( ie Wal Mart etc ). In regards to the cucumber girl, that ditz is probably long gone , end of story. Does security measures stop all, of course not.

Ban for life and should be fined. We don't need people like this in the parks. And NO I don't believe that is too harsh. They knew what they were doing and did it multiple times.

While it may not quite be like it used to be in certain ways, I'm glad WDW still trys to do nice things even though people like this try to ruin it for everyone.
I heard there was NO security response; not escorted out of the property etc. Is this true?
