Oh but if she would have fallen and gotten hurt, they'd be suing Disney because she didn't know....spoil it for everyone

Exactly. I can't tell you how many times people did stupid, against the rules things at Disneyland and then wanted to sue Disney.
Universal is always on top of things.

Oh man, my thoughts were the same as Universal's.... all that for a cucumber.

I thought all Disney rides had some kind of sensor built in or at least someone watching at all times to stop the ride if someone gets off. I was on the Little Mermaid ride once and a man dropped his cell phone and got out of the clam shell to get it and the entire ride stopped. He was then escorted off the ride by a CM.

The Little Mermaid is a dangerous ride system, that is why it has lap bars. It could really chew a person up. The boats on IASW, POTC, etc, not so much.

Next her niece will want a doll from Its a Small world and some Rum from PotC. Is this trending yet as the new tik tok fad? Salading?

Sadly, if it gets enough hits it will trend on Tik Tok, Instagram, etc. There is no end to the number of idiots wanting to be Instagram Famous.

Anyone remember the DLR Toontown brawl that happened a few years ago? Disney security showed up at approx 3:30 into the fight.

I do and I will tell you that Disneyland "Security" is completely not equipped to deal with such people. They are not police officers and don't carry the tools to handle that many people out of control. All they can do is put out a call to get more personnel there and hope there are some Anaheim PD or CHP eating at the Inn Between that can respond.

As annoying and disappoining I found her behavior, I find that posting hateful and mean spirited comments about the someone's appearance online is a far worse offense than breaking theme park ride protocol.

No breaking theme park protocol is far worse because she could have endangered herself or others. That's why you're supposed to stay in your vehicle at all times. Talking about her appearance may hurt her feelings but it doesn't physically hurt anyone.

Hateful and mean spirited comments? Need some thick skin to move on and not let it get to oneself.

Are we really sure that the niece wanted it? I mean, of all things to steal, she steals a, ahem, cucumber.

Commenting on someone’s appearance is worse than getting out of a moving ride vehicle and putting the safety of everyone in the boat at risk? Girl…
Yeah... one's an easy lesson: follow the rules so you don't get hurt. Nearly everyone's able to do that. The other lesson that you have yet to learn in life is that calling someone fat, ugly, Snooki, whatever is NOT a perfectly justifiable reaction to witnessing someone do something you don't like. Their appearance is immaterial. Only actions matter. Definitely took me a long time to learn this.

Part of me doesn’t want to see her getting one second of her “15 min of fame,” but another part of me hopes this is all over the media so everyone in her town knows just what a class act she is. And if it goes viral, Disney will have to act.

There's a twitter user who said he was on the rear of the boat - and that they got on and off a total of four times. He also said that the 'voice of god' kept reminding them to keep their hands and feet inside the ride. So he thought they were indeed watching them......but then, they got off the ride, were not met by security and stumbled into soarin. (Personally, I'm not sure I would want to ride soarin in that condition.)

Either WDW security *chose* to not do anything about it or could not mobilize security fast enough to get there.

Security has never monitored every camera on property. On attractions, it's usually done by attractions CMs.

And in case you are wondering if Disney did anything …. They didn’t. Security was never called and the Guests went about their day as normal.
They rarely do anything during or immediately after the incident. Unless it's a horrible incident, at best, Disney will respond within a few hours, realistically within a few days or weeks.
