Disney has a deep bench.
It has many more iconic IPs than just a mere 50. It could have 50 characters for each of the 4 parks.
And yet, they're not only limiting it to 50 IPs, but by doubling up on a bunch of them, they'll only have representation for about 35 IPs (the Earidescent Eight eat of up a good chunk of the list).
There's going to be a lot of disappointment that fan-favorite IPs will be left off the list, added to the disappointment that main characters aren't represented.
Prepare for wailing.
If the other site's list was correct, it's going to be more like 20-25 IPs due to additional doubling up (and occasional tripling up). They've only represented 16 (I think) up to this point.
ETA: And some of the representation is for Star Wars and Marvel -- not that that should surprise anyone, but I don't think anyone thinks of those as classic Disney IP, especially since they're live action and everything else comes from animation.
