Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout announced for Disney California Adventure

I'm totally in the minority, but I think the final building is way more interesting to look at than DCA's original ToT (DHS still wins). Aside from it currently feeling out of place, I honestly don't think it looks bad or have an issue with seeing it in other areas of the park.

The sides, in particular, look a lot better from around the park and feel more complete than they did with its previous incarnation.
I agree. While the design in general isn't the best thing I've ever seen, I think it looks way more appealing than TOT 1.0. I hated the way that looked.

I'm sorry, but the only "game" this attraction changes is the guessing game: "What's that sticking up in the back of DCA?"

For this to truly be a game changer, it needed to be wholly unique and built from scratch, not simply the GotG version of ToT.

I think it's a game changer in some regards, and not so much in others.

I would have preferred a brand new attraction for GOTG too. I think everyone would, then there would be a whole new attraction to enjoy in addition to the TOT. But, I can see why Disney went this route, and I do like the design of this ride better that the TOT. (Which admittedly didn't set the bar very high.) And when it's all said and done, it paves the way for more Marvel in the parks, and I'm a big fan of that.

Well, this is terrible news.......

From MousePlanet......

"As we predicted last week, the $150 Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout Galactic Premier Party is sold out. Attendees will be among the first to experience the new attraction on May 26, one day before it opens to the general public."

Well what did you think was going to happen? It's not like if this one event party didn't sell out that they would stop all-together.

No, that wasn't what I was hoping would happen. I was hoping if it didn't sell out, they may rethink price points for these events or offer more incentives to want to attend.
That's fair. This event is at an even higher price point than the MSEP or ToT closing parties. Although the pricing could be just because it is longer than the previous parties, I can't help but wonder if Disney has a few surprises in store for this event.

Wow. Okay. They sold out a $150 event for a ride many local Disneyland fans are upset about. That tells me there are a lot of local Disneyland fans who aren't upset, and/or they are pulling in new Marvel fans who may not have been that excited about Disneyland before but are now interested because the property is now featuring Marvel stuff. Either way, Disneyland appears to have a solid base of customers to draw from to satisfy demand for this new ride.

It will be interesting to see what happens once people actually start riding on May 26th and Memorial Day Weekend. When we find out what this ride actually is like, this may take off even further and fuel more demand from a new demographic for Disneyland.

This also tells me we can expect an even bigger and more expensive version of this preview concept for Star Wars Land in spring '19. I think the days of free Annual Passholder Previews just ended. You know they were testing the waters with this for Star Wars Land previews.

I sat there for five minutes trying to figure out the hidden meaning of the removed letters... There might not be one.
This could be the start of a plethora of Disney fan theories. Cause if there's one thing we're all good at, is reading into stuff and finding meaning where there actually is none.

Here's somebody claiming to know what's in store for MB:

#GuardiansBREAKOUT on the inside looks… exactly how you’d expect it to look from the garbage WDI glue and stapled to the outside.

      Replying to @imaginat1on
#GuardiansBREAKOUT lobby has Figment & Matterhorn’s Harold (course) and all sorts of other eye-roll fan-service cheap “collector” theming.

“Theming” an attraction using leftover props decaying in a warehouse is what I’d expect from Six Flags, not Disney. Come on… Demand better.

#GuardiansBREAKOUT on-ride experience is 100% screenzzz. No more physical sets like ToT had. Cheap, easy, replaceable. The new mandate.

#GuardiansBREAKOUT is WAY MORE intense/thrilling than ToT ever was. Elevator is CONSTANTLY in motion of some sort. Not in a good good way.

#GuardiansBREAKOUT made several people physically ill who really used to love ToT. Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen to you…

One bright spot in #GuardiansBREAKOUT is the raccoon AA in the library which people described as “extremely well done” and “very cool.”

#GuardiansBREAKOUT continues the new WDI tradition of only needing one good AA figure in new rides. Pandora, Roaring Rapids, Toy Story…

I’m not at all looking forward to #GuardiansBREAKOUT. Still haven’t seen the movies. I’ll ride it but meh… Not getting a lot of confidence.

And that’s what I’ve got on #GuardiansBREAKOUT. Enjoy.
