Yeah, but see, the Tower ride concept was based on the trope of the haunted building, something people of all generations and all cultures can understand.

So why is Rod Sterling giving an introduction on a television? Why is the queue littered with easter eggs from the series? Why is it even called The Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror if all it's meant to be is just a trip through a haunted building?

Personally, I don't think they will care. I'd wager that about 80-90% of the people lining up to ride this attraction are only interested in one thing...going up and down real fast.

Those things are the icing on the cake. The Tower wasn't originally going to be based on The Twilight Zone. It was just going to be a haunted hotel. I think that if all of the TZ elements were removed, and elements adjusted a little, it would still work and be a stellar attraction and guests would understand its premise. The Tower, as designed and built, is stronger than its IP. The execution was even better than the idea. And that's a rare thing indeed.

Which is exactly why I'm predicting that switching it to a Marvel brand won't have the negative impacts to the attraction some are predicting. At the end of the day the elevator drop ride will still be there, just accompanied by a different script.

I think it will have zero impact on the attraction, in fact, I think it could possibly be more popular (very much so at the beginning). The issue I and many others have had since day one is all about it fitting in with the Hollywood Land theme.

And unfortunately this is true, thus the reason Dis thinks it is acceptable to go forward with this project. They change it into an IP that will sell more merchandise than TZ did, but they know that most people will ride the attraction no matter what the theme.
