The guy on the left (who is the main hero I take it?) looks far more realistic than the twinky wig kid with the fake mustache they are using at WDW. If Disneyland can pick a guy who has an actual heterosexual vibe, instead of the actors trying to act heterosexual they often get, this might work out just fine.

The tree guy is odd. The green lady looks like she doesn't want to be there, but maybe that's the way she's supposed to be.

Sounds like you are unfamiliar with the crew from GoTG. Here are the 3 characters pictured above as they appear in the film in the proper context:

How about this guy?

Or this?

I really hope they have a Rocket AA in the attraction. He's by far the best character in the movie, but one that there is no way in heck I'd ever want them to attempt to do a character meet and greet with. He's gotta be short and small, anything else would be creepy.
I always found the stitch walk around creepy. Never understood why they never tried to get someone shorter to play him. Also hate the way the body was designed. The costume looks like one oversized pajama. I think they should have used the stitch that is dressed in his alien costume

Perhaps you should rephrase what you intended to say without implying that all homosexuals are unable to appear "manly or masculine".
There are plenty of heterosexual men who are effeminate.
Just like there are more than plenty of homosexual men who are masculine.
I don't think you intended to be insulting but I thought as a masculine homosexual I would point it out. ;)

I'm also a masculine homosexual. Was in the Marine Corps for several years back in the 20th century when it was illegal to be gay, and I had everyone fooled. Well, almost everyone. ;)

This Star Lord character seems very straight to me. I'm just hoping Disneyland can find a few Fullerton Junior College kids who can butch it up enough to seem realistic. Disney parks in general don't have a strong track record when it comes to pulling off "Young Straight Guy" live-action characters. The over-the-top characters like Gaston just seem cartoonish, so it works. But this Star Lord character is a modern day young guy, which always seems difficult for Disney theme park character actors to pull off convincingly. Perhaps though because we are gay our gaydar is just going off and most folks waiting in line for their picture aren't worrying about it. @Curious Constance, as just one example.

Not even my desperation can cloud the gaydar, unfortunately.
