Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout announced for Disney California Adventure

My post was supposed to be in "reply" to mickEblu who suggested Disney suits would want Ant Man to replace Pooh. I agree Critter Country isn't an ideal fit for Zootopia and that a Zootopia ride deserves a bigger show building (and better ride system). But if Chapek and Iger wanted to shoe horn another IP back there Zootopia would be the best choice and could potentially be an improvement.

It was a joke based on some of the current decisions. I don't think they ll actually do it, at least I hope not. I honestly wouldn't want a Zootopia ride where Pooh sits for 3 reasons. One- I don't think the theme of the movie works with the backwoods theme of Critter Country. Two- I don't think the showbuilding is big enough to create an E ticket which folks would probably be expecting. They could do some tech upgrades, maybe trackless vehicles and make it a D though. Three- They would quickly learn that the Pooh building isn't large enough and start looking at a Splash Mountain overlay. So Hell to the No on that. Haha. That would be 2 of my top 3 attractions at DLR gone within the span of a few years.

Zootopia in Animal Kingdom would be kind of uncomfortable, seeing as how all mammals on Zootopia's alternate Earth are intelligent, civilized beings. The juxtapostion of clothed, intelligent... Oh, cripes, I'm over-analyzing this, but y'know what I mean. It's a style thing--the Zootopia characters aren't "toony" like Mickey & crew.
It would be their version of Toon Town.

Besides, it would be less of a break than day glow plants and tall blue skin guys riding dragons.

Ya based on the some of the wording in that article looks like they are confirming the obvious and pandering to the classic DL nostalgia loving diehards at the same time. So basically the plan is to keep Disneyland Classic and turn DCA into Universal Studios. Ok, I say that for dramatic effect but It makes sense. I think this is how they strike that balance. One park for the old farts who love nostalgia and one park for the ADD youth of today (in their eyes). DCA will be the park where they won't hesitate to knock anything down no matter how popular it is in favor of the flavor of the month because hey - Disneyland is next door and DCA isn't that old. I mean how much nostalgia can a park build in 16 years?

EDIT: Which is the lesser of two evils I will admit but I think they shouldn't be so quick to kill the little nostalgia that DCA has built.

hooooooo boy. I about got a cavity from all the sugar-coating that article had.

Can't wait to celebrate Marv--uh, I mean, "Super Heroes" and have a dance party!

And let's not leave out discount ScarJo! "Black Widow will arrive on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests." Yay?

They're really gonna milk this thing aren't they?

Might as well. Would you prefer they not go to any extra effort? That corner of DCA is a wasteland as is, so better than nothing.

Good point. I just wish they would do something substantial with that dull area already and stop with this dance party / meet and greet non sense. Those things should be fillers IMO and not the the main attraction in that area.

HANS!!!! This has also been confirmed!!!

"Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! – Don’t be surprised if you run into the Guardians of the Galaxy on their way to the Milano, with Star-Lord firing up his old-school boom box to get the party started. Gamora may prefer to stand back and observe, but everyone else is bound to get in the groove and show off their moves during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash!"
