Although, I'm sure it's far from finished. It's very boxy; even more boxy than the concept art and model. The original pieces had sections extending up and out in odd directions to give it a silhouette. The actual project has all of the color boxed within a dark purple square border. I didn't know it was possible to get cheaper looking than the concept model.
It isn't finished, but the boxed in nature vs the model isn't going to change. The structure is complete in terms of shape, all they have left is some paint work and pipes and such. It won't make the finished top have the silhouette from the model.Although, I'm sure it's far from finished.
Was it Walt?I hated the old ticket books. But we were lucky, we knew someone who got us loads of "Key" tickets.
Was it Walt?
It's alien. It's industrial. It's imposing.If you're a first timer...
When you look at the exterior of Haunted Mansion, you know you're in for a good haunted house attraction.
When you look at the exterior of Matterhorn/Big Thunder, you know you're in for a good roller coaster adventure.
When you look at the exterior of Indiana Jones, you know you're in for a thrilling experience.
What about this exterior tells the uninitiated to expect a rollicking GOTG adventure, besides the attraction sign?
The DCA tower has always had a more awkward boxey look IMO. The concept art I think exaggerated the main shaft part's height compared to the lower part of the building. It isn't finished, but the boxed in nature vs the model isn't going to change. The structure is complete in terms of shape, all they have left is some paint work and pipes and such. It won't make the finished top have the silhouette from the model.
Not sure if this will become a regular thing, but the much adored vlogger of SWL is doing separate GOTG ones. Enjoy!
Be honest though...would it being delayed really surprise you?Seeing the concept artwork first, and then the real building directly after made me realize how not done this thing actually is. And that makes me worry that it won't be open in time for mid June.

Two things I took away from the video:
1) there's an awful juxtaposition between this building and the lively "old Hollywood" streetmosphere.
2) the exposed section is done from what I can fathom since they already took down all the scaffolding. Maybe they ran into pipes-related budget cuts??
I looked at him questioningly, he stared back with a blank look on his face and walked away to go back to his Indiana Jones video game.
