They’ve tried / are trying. You’d think with all the concern about bean counters in executive roles, we would feel confident that inefficient spending would get criticized internally.
I think general audiences will love this ride and see it as the must do for EPCOT. Now wether you agree with the average tourist or not on that will, I think, wildly vary for people on this boardIf we ignore for just one moment those who object to specific things such as the colour of the bad guy or how many references to Epcot there are (valid as those points are to those individuals), was the general consensus that this will be an exciting and fun ride for the vast majority of guests? In other words if an average guest with no preconceived ideas of what they hope it's not goes in, do you think they'll ride and come out satisfied that they had a great time and feel it's a great addition to the park?
I honestly couldn’t tell one way or the other so if it was a soundalike they did a good enough job for me.Is Rocket voiced by Bradley Cooper could you tell?
EDIT:
If not, how was the soundalike?
Too bad Rip Rocket did this ages ago with a better model - let people control/influence what they get.I'm a huge fan of randomization and wish more rides used it as an element. Seems to me that it would be one of the major upsides to using digital projections on rides over physical elements - it's one of the reasons I love Star Tours. I have felt like it was unfortunate that something like FoP (which I love anyway) doesn't use some randomizing with scenes.
given MB and how music is used in the GotG movies, I would have been disappointed to not have a variety of songs in this ride.
In this case, I kinda think randomization works the best. Since music is so crucial to the guardians experience. Not as many songs to work with here.Too bad Rip Rocket did this ages ago with a better model - let people control/influence what they get.
Because it relates to how willing the company is able/willing to do things next time or again. Why are people so obsessed with the cost?
I don’t believe they spent it in the first place.
My guess is they spent $100-150 million but are claiming $400 million so they can have the “appearance” of bigger investment in the parks and move theoretical money on the books at the same time.
Gotta claim the executive salaries and other non revenue generating expenses on the books somewhere, accounting tricks and marketing tricks make it look like they spent money in one place but the reality is a lot of that money never came near this project.
Thanks for the reply, I'm really pleased it's a good attraction even though it's going to be about 18 months before I can ride it myself. GOTG seems a fun franchise and it would appear that's been captured and immersed into this addition. Whilst it's placement is questionable, surely it's better that what's there and can't be changed is at least a great ride.I think general audiences will love this ride and see it as the must do for EPCOT. I kind of like how everyone on the train will be listening to the same song. Makes it more communal than everyone listening to something different idkToo bad Rip Rocket did this ages ago with a better model - let people control/influence what they get.
For what it’s worth I thought that I ran (so far away) went really well with the ride. I know it’s not a typical Guardians song but it works well imo.Let's be honest, the variety of these songs kind of sucks. Everybody Wants to Rule the World seems too slow, Conga drags in parts, and I Flew (So Far Away) just isn't really a Guardians vibe. I feel like September is the only one I LOVE. Not me being negative, just an honest critique.
Well that one is Zach favorite! Apparently it fits really well.Let's be honest, the variety of these songs kind of sucks. Roll-back (or rollforward technically) reported.
Explain for the uninitiated (me) - is this a planned thing? Or an error
It's a great list. I'm still a little unconvinced about Everybody Wants to Rule the World - it is interesting that Zack specifically calls that out to talk about because it seems to stick out as too mellow - but the others are all great and fit in well with what we have seen in the GotG movies.Their is our confirmation of the tracklist.
That would be a ride mishap. But it is part of the reason they do soft openings and testing so they can tinker with the ride to avoid those problems once it opens officially. IIRC rollback is when a coaster fails to clear a hill and "rolls back" to where it started (in this case, back to the launch point I would assume).Explain for the uninitiated (me) - is this a planned thing?
