Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought multiple insiders said their is an educational part to this. Also, they most certainly will reference energy since we are going back to the big bang. I am not saying it is going to be as educational as energy but I think their will be elements.

Not even just insiders, it's official

(Photo from other site) Can we assume those square holes in the slanted framing for the ceiling are for either lights or speakers? In general, I’m glad to see the general design for the entrance is pretty similar to Energy, at least structurally.

I haven’t been able to ride ROTR or MMRR yet but I think of TOT, TSM, SDD, and MFSR all as high quality rides. And RNR is a fun coaster, albiet with meh theming.

In fact I would say that the unique thing about DHS is that of the 9 rides in the park, 7 opened as the MUST DO ride; only AS2 and MMRR didn’t (and if MMRR had opened before SWGE like it was supposed to, it would be 8 of 9)
Just about every attraction they have opened in the last 15 years that’s above a flat ride has been marketed as a “MUST DO ride”. Mickey got cut short because of COVID.

I think this is actually to a lot of the attractions’ detriment. Many of these are a great addition to the supporting cast, but with expectations set so high, they’re bound to disappoint.

I forget about Toy Story Mania because I think it's absolutely terrible and should be demolished. It was fine when it first opened (even then it was just mediocre, but fine), but now it's basically playing a 15-20 year old video game. You could play a more advanced/fun version at home on your couch. I realize I'm in the minority there, though, and plenty of people seem to love it.

I don't think Smuggler's Run is very good either. Being in the Millenium Falcon cockpit is great, but the ride itself is, again, a mediocre video game. It just does nothing for me. Slinky Dog Dash is fine, but it's essentially just a standard family coaster you could ride at any number of amusement parks around the country. It's not worth the wait times.

Tower of Terror is phenomenal, no argument there.

I was watching the Ellen's Energy Adventure tribute today and couldn't help but think the same thing. It makes me wonder why they tore down the entire front if it was going to be built back almost exactly the same

Construction access, infrastructure work, there could be many reasons.

I have zero desire to play any at home video game, but absolutely love Toy Story Mania.
You can't compare sitting on a couch at home, to riding in a vehicle with a friend or family member, and being whipped around from location to location, plus the effects, plus other riders in the room.

You're just moving around a giant warehouse looking at screens. There's nothing else to it.

You're moving so - often quite quickly - so there is a ride aspect to the... well, ride.
You're boarding a ride, exiting a ride when it's over.
You're playing the game in direct competition to your seating companion, while in effect sharing the experience with other riders.
There's a pace to the whole thing that a stationary game can never come close to.
Plus, there are wind and water effects.
One of my sons plays some video games that have amazing graphics and deep stories.
I marvel at how good the images look, but have no interest in picking up a controller.
Yet I have a blast riding/playing Toy Story Mania with him, my other son, and my wife.
I'd imagine there are many, many adults who feel the same way.

Yes!!! My wife and I love TSMM so much that when we had APs in 2019, we made sure we had an FP for it during our planned HS day and also for departure days. It was so cool to stay at Pop, take the skyliner to HS just for TSMM, have a blast doing it, then skyliner back to Pop before our drive home to Georgia. On another trip we were staying at POFQ and we checked out, drove to HS to use an FP on TSMM, then drove home from there. Yeah... we might be a bit addicted to TSMM. 😜

There definitely are, which is what I said in my original post. I know lots of people enjoy it.

I just don't really understand it because the whole experience is terrible to me. I wouldn't waste time riding it even if it was a walk-on.
