Nah, Universe of Energy was old, stale, and boring. Out with the old, in with the new! We should embrace this with open arms.

(end sarcasm)

lol.

I've actually heard very few say this, even off of here. LOL. But yeah that's the attitude a lot of times. (even those who wanted Energy gone)

Energy needed a replacement, but to waste the entire building on queue and preshows for a coaster of a franchise that is shoehorned in "just because" (I imagine they wanted a "thrilling coaster" in Epcot and assumed most would just accept it). It's another short sighted thrill in replacement of a "stodgy old ride" that could have been updated to still matter. (Hi, Test Track and Mission Space) Instead of taking away something, what a novel concept: ADD a thrill instead. No reason Test Track couldn't have been an expansion of the WOM pavilion. They could have put Space between Land and Nemo .... anywho ...

Ah, well, maybe they'll find some budget to paint stripes on the outside.

lol. I don't think they can do anything with this thing that would make anyone happy. It's a big box containing a coaster. It just sticks out right now like a sore thumb. I find it far worse than Soarin's show building, but I get it doesn't bother some. I just think they could and should do a better job. They used to. I was watching a vlog someone did from Tokyo and they remarked just how immersive DisneySea was and how you'd never know they even had show buildings.

I don't love seeing the back of Everest or the back of Star Wars land. But I do give them a slight pass for lack of theming. But I think it ruins the illusion in some regards. But, again, most don't care. Those of us who do are in the minority it seems. lol. I know some see it as complaining, and yes, it is complaining, but it's honestly an eyesore. I try very hard to not always complain or criticize. I accept a lot more than some do on here, lol. But when even some of the most pixie dusted (not me, but I don't hate everything on principle, either) think it's a problem ... it kind of is. Anyway, just rambling at this point ... lol.

Not towards you, but I'm sure it's beyond tiresome hearing about the ugly blue box for 300 pages. But there's really nothing else to discuss, lol.

I don't disagree with you. I always felt like some of the magic of Disneyland, especially as a child, was not really seeing how these attractions were inside the place you walked into.

That photo really gives a good perspective of how large the GotG building is. SSE is iconic. The GotG building, not so much.

When you want a can of baked beans, you don't pick the one that has the prettiest label.
You pick the ones that taste the best.

It's what's inside that counts. That's our approach with GOTG here at Epcot.

I actually pick the can that is cheapest. Because its hard to screw up beans/a giant boxy building dotting a previously beautiful and exciting landscape.

I dont know if we’ve seen this yet with the track, but it looks like as you get to the top you will bank right or just rotate right pretty suddenly if I interpret the pic correctly.

That’s pretty exciting seeing new track installed. On the flipside, I just rode Expedition Everest and saw the box in person from the lift hill. It’s big, but the perspective from EE makes it look bigger than it is. I’ll be going to Epcot tomorrow, so I’ll see how it looks from the park.
