Sounds like Escape from Gringott's in execution, so maybe not that unique, the ride system used may be different though.

From today:

The tunnel between UoE and the gravity building is moving along.

The former exits have been demolished. The tile still remains, though.

The front of the building. They're digging up piping round here, probably either the irrigation around the planters, or for the connections to the speakers.

Those two solar panels are still up there.

Some markings on the girders, exposed for the first time in 36+ years.

On the inside, the back wall is gonna need some hefty repairs before it's good to go.

Is this a stairwell? That door-looking thing has a sign on it, but I can't make it out on any of the pics I took.

A coating has gone over some of the girders. I believe this is for fire resistance.

And the reason why this all happened so quickly: they got a really fancy Ladder in there. The other Ladder is still stuck backstage near the former exits, might be dead. RIP

Let’s hope there is still a spark of interest at park leadership to take dark rides seriously. Preserve and protect SSE and Living with the Land, and invest in new technologies that can more easily allow for a dark ride to be updated periodically. Commit to creating a new dark ride.

These panels are pretty old tech anyway, right?
Wouldn't make sense to replace with newer and more efficient ones?

To a certain degree, mainly due to the base being square with the bogies being at the extreme edge of the corners.

The ride system used in Gringotts was developed by Dynamic Attractions. Vekoma is the expected manufacturer of GotG's ride system.

Simply build a dark ride mash-up on the scale of the GMR that combines the sets from SSE followed by a re-creation of Horizon's sets. Boom!


Then SSE could be turned into something new.

It would. But I meant a brand new building similar to GMR.

I think getting rid of the SSE story would be even more controversial than Horizons demise.
