Sorry if this has come up in this thread already as I haven't read through all 120 pages, but any clue how this will tie in to Future World? Land, Sea, Imagination, Communication, Transportation, Space and.....?
Rockin' tunes.

Now if only Kevin Feige and James Gunn had the power to do this and cared enough to do this

This just doesn't sound believable. They're not similar trains where is the benefit in even having such a plan?

I wonder if she also asked them to keep Bruce the Shark.

Maybe the guy is referring to the stationary train in Hogsmeade? He doesn't really give a timeframe for when this happened.

That's debatable. Personally I say it doesn't fit the park.

But management obviously do. Same for a space movie pavilion in a futuristic landscape.

Remember, EPCOT Center is dead.

I know it's not the thread for this but I don't totally agree. Neither are a fit. But Walking through Norway now, FEA really fits in with the rest of it visually. I'm worried well be getting a totally different situation in future world. Why can't we just have discovery land?

Hi First time caller, long time listener. I have a question, what happens when GOTG2 (ala Avatar 2) bombs. Are the people in charge really that stupid? (Rhetorical question of course)

Sorry, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but do you actually think GOTG2 is going to flop?

Comic based action movies always seem to share the same story of diminishing returns the more sequels they spawn. Putting the entire issue of whether it's appropriate to even put this type of attraction where its going, it seemingly crazy to put so much faith in a piece of IP that was financially successful once. Especially coming from a company that has such a library of established IP.

On a side note, I'd love to be the cocaine dealer for all those guys in Burbank that came up with this idea.

Every marvel sequel other than the Avengers:AOU has grossed more than its predecessor. I don't think they are worried.

GotG 2 is scheduled to release in April and May of 2017 in various countries:

D23 isn't until July.

If they planned on announcing something at D23 in 2017, they could cancel the announcement and the attraction if it flopped. That wouldn't make up for however much resources they put into developing ideas for the attraction though.

A) It's not going to flop
B) Once a project is that far along to the point of being announced within weeks it would be very difficult to cancel it.

Agreed, plus the first film did well enough to justify construction on its own. Many attractions at Disney were built with only one film and many that had sequels were built before the sequels.

To add, despite what the clueless management thinks, an attraction doesn't need a hit movie franchise to succeed on their own. EE, TOT, SM, IASW, HM, JC, and many others are more than enough evidence of that. It's not about the IP, it's about the ride.
