It could be just to announce the DCA attraction, which MiceAge says ToT is closing in September and planned to open in May along with the movie. Epcot is further down the pipeline and D23 is only two months after GOTG2 so wouldn't be surprised if there's no mention of Epcot.Conflicted feelings here. Yay Joe, Yay Marvel, YAY COMICON (one of these years, I'll be there) but.. erm.. yay, Marvel WDW stuff?
Yay, hopefully something new that won't destroy a park that needs attractions but not IP ones... like... err, AK.

Also, just as a personal aside, I don't think Avatar is going to ruin DAK. It fits far better than most of these IP placements and the conservation theme is strong in both the movie and park.
Is Joe in charge of Marvel at WDW- regardless of which park it's shoved in to ?
Joe is in charge of Marvel at Imagineering, so covers all parks.
At least it's not the good one. DCA's is pretty lame tbh.I would be happy to be the guy at the panel to yell "Yeah but they're tearing down the Tower of Terror in the process!"
I would love for the Epcot announcement to happen this weekend if only to see the reaction on Orlando United. It could be just to announce the DCA attraction, which MiceAge says ToT is closing in September and planned to open in May along with the movie. I would grab popcorn. I love that site and nobody's better with Universal information, but they have a vehement stance that this isn't happening and almost refuse to even accept that it's a possibility.I would love for the Epcot announcement to happen this weekend if only to see the reaction on Orlando United.
Well it's hard to destroy Hollywoodland with the state that it's currently in.This I've heard. But I don't care for it at DCA, thematically wise. Unless they hide it in a corner without destroying Hollywoodland.
Yes, twice actually. And so did a lot of other people. Despite all the outset reports Batman v Superman sold over 35 million tickets just in the United States and brought in $872 Million worldwide; up over 30% from the previous/first installment in the series Man of Steel at $668 Million worldwide.
The area around ToT actually isn't becoming Marvel Land which makes the Guardians decision all the more strange.Well it's hard to destroy Hollywoodland with the state that it's currently in.
Honestly, it's not really connected to the main part of Hollywoodland that much and a redo of the land is on the way. So they could separate the land from ToT (which then becomes a Marvel Land with the rumored Captain America coaster also going in the area). It really shouldn't be that bad.
Do you remember when this was posted? I also seem to remember mice chat rumoring behind TOT in that parking lot area also being used but not sure if that was before or after this map was made. The area around ToT actually isn't becoming Marvel Land which makes the Guardians decision all the more strange.

I would hope not. I loved that Denny's1. That is a wonderful map
2. Maybe it will make sense in the end? Idk. Like I said, I don't really care that much since DCA's ToT was pretty ordinary compared to DHS.
3. I wonder if Disney has any plans on trying to acquire the land that the Denny's, IHOP, etc sit on in front of the garages?
