Comic based action movies always seem to share the same story of diminishing returns the more sequels they spawn. Putting the entire issue of whether it's appropriate to even put this type of attraction where its going, it seemingly crazy to put so much faith in a piece of IP that was financially successful once. Especially coming from a company that has such a library of established IP.

On a side note, I'd love to be the cocaine dealer for all those guys in Burbank that came up with this idea.
Well, Disney (Chapek) wants Marvel in the parks and GotG seems to be the only thing they can use in WDW that has any kind of popularity other than BH6. Being part of the MCU doesn't hurt either.

Hi First time caller, long time listener. I have a question, what happens when GOTG2 (ala Avatar 2) bombs. Are the people in charge really that stupid? (Rhetorical question of course)

The same thing that happened to the TrON coaster in Shanghai or is still happening to the new Alice attraction.

A great attraction doesn't require box office receipts to establish its merit and vice versa. Something executives *largely* no longer comprehend.

Hey, if we want to be pointing fingers, I say we should point them at Bob Chapek. I fear that his rule as WDP&R chairman will basically be a giant repeat of the Pressler years. Seriously, why would you hire a guy whose previously experience was Merchandising to run your theme park?

The one subtle difference is he seems to be willing to spend some money and demands quality on a timeline.

I realize he's taking us down the long winding IP road, the parks will be drastically different, but at least they'll be better than they are today. Pressler only made things worse, Bob seems to be completely ignoring conservative fans, but at least some of the projects in complete isolation are strong and don't need to be flattened before they even begin.

Disney mustn't do this to Epcot or any of their parks and resorts in the future. This is the same mistake as the Disney's first square peg in a round hole, but with the other pegs.

Did you see Batman vs Superman? Neither did I. Thanks for coming out, I'll make sure you get a copy of the home game to take back with you.
Yes, twice actually. And so did a lot of other people. Despite all the outset reports Batman v Superman sold over 35 million tickets just in the United States and brought in $872 Million worldwide; up over 30% from the previous/first installment in the series Man of Steel at $668 Million worldwide.

And yet, Deadpool almost matched that worldwide with almost no brand recognition. Imagine how much money BVS could have made if it was good!

I didn't realize BvS defenders were still a thing...
