@WDW1974 @MansionButler84 Do you guys know if any of this Epcot business is on the agenda for the BoD meeting coming up in FL? If so, will this meeting determine budget/approval of certain aspects of the project?
Since GOTG is supposedly green lit I'm hoping this is about more additions coming to FW and WS. Also hopefully creating a new cohesive theme.

E.P.C.O.T. Center.

Let it go. Your new future is here. GOTG is a great replacement for the Energy pavilion. Peak Oil was the fantasy.

Guardians at Energy is already green lit and budgeted (generously). I'm sure they will discuss other projects or they wouldn't force Board members to endure summer in FL. Surely they'd rather meet in November in the swamps!
Thanks for the information. This project is picking up steam. Should we hear an official announcement fir Dísney in the not so distant future or is it under wraps?

Can you give a range on the budget (as it is currently)?
I'm even more interested in a timeline.
Is this going to be soon? like you better go visit Energy this month, because next month it will be shut.
Or are we looking at something that's at least 6 months out.

Anyone who was there in 1986 wishes it was still 1986. I was there and 6 so it made an impression on me. But it is 30 years later...things have changed. If this is the way to get some juice back into the front of the park, so be it. It's an embarrassing joke today. Marvel is a fun exciting property that spans generations and sexes. I never read a comic book but have seen, and will see, every MCU movie. I say spend some money, do it right, and bring on the Guardians and let's have some fun at a theme park.

Not to open another can of worms.....
but how is living with Aliens and interacting with aliens and having those of us with superpowers not a dream about the impossible future?

is that not what fantasy, and science fiction really anyway?

Again, I am not trying to pull the band aid off, I get why folks feel this does not fit EPCOT, and I actually agree. But make sure WHY it does not fit makes sense, not just throw darts.

I for one can see, how a futuristic world where we have constant interaction with other alien races a fun idea, its not the original plan for EPCOT but if done well, it could expand what EPCOT was.
The future depicted in EPCOT Center is only impossible because it costs taxpayer's money.
Guardians of the Galaxy is impossible because it is a creative work of fiction...

Just my thinking, but if phase 2 has to happen before 50th that does not leave much time for phase 1...

Is it possible we are looking at 2018/19 for phase 1?

if they have not announced it yet, or broken ground on it, then I would say a minimum of 2019-2021 for phase one... It took well over 2 year beyond it's announcement to open FEA...this would be a bit more ambitious with a new concept and ride system...
